INTRO LOG
Week Zero
32 in Competition
32 in Competition
The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.
A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.
Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.
Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.
It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.

Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.
Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

PROFILES
A bunch of freaks?
[There's a look of consideration, and a puff of amusement.]
Yes, I suppose with these profiles, it would certainly look that way. Although it seems that yours is at least accurate.
no subject
but she'll just shrug at that]
I haven't read it. I know who I am. But at least it'll help confirm that they're even remotely accurate.

"long black hair, foul mouth, a perpetual look of disdain..."
[--and looks towards Lili, nodding thoughtfully without a trace of maliciousness, head tilting slightly.]
Although I must admit, I've never considered being easily kidnapped something that would count as an ability. Or whining, grumbling, protesting...
no subject
Is that mine - I wasn't asking for a recitation of it, you know! My eyes work just fine...!!
[UGH]
no subject
[She certainly is her profile. But...]
However, I am not sure what "tsunning" is. Could you explain what kind of ability that is?
no subject
"Tsunning"?
[guess who has no clue]
Ugh, probably something insulting. Whatever - I don't care.
no subject
With that in mind, you may be one of the freakiest of us all.
no subject
[she literally just -
it's fine]
no subject
Besides, wouldn't your statement "a bunch of freaks" include yourself?
no subject
[yea
anyway]
Ugh, are you being obtuse on purpose? Or is that one of your unlisted skills?
no subject
I suspect everyone on these walls has more to them than is listed here.
no subject
You're... very exhausting...
Has anyone told you that?
no subject
And you're very stubborn.
no subject
[UGH]
I'd rather be stubborn than walked all over, you know?
no subject
That sort of strong-willed determination is exactly what makes humans so special.
no subject
[ . . . . ]
I hate to admit that would make some sense.
no subject
[Well done!!!]
no subject
.... you can't just say that and not give more of an explanation, you know....
no subject
I am Milla Maxwell, the lord of spirits.
[ta
da!]
no subject
They were right to leave 'self-introduction' off your scroll - but it appears that they left out something else important as well.
What exactly are you capable of, oh mighty and obtuse lord of spirits?
no subject
Well, I am able to summon the four great spirits whenever I please, and all spirits of the world are at my beck and call. I am also quite capable with a sword.
Or did you mean something else?
no subject
[ . . . sort of. she wonders if the four great spirits are anything like the four dragons in kouka's origin myth?
but.]
Can you use any of those skills to help us out of this current situation?
no subject
no subject
there's no way to hide it and she doesn't bother
she's disappointed]
Brute force, then.
no subject
Yes. Crude, but effective.
[Milla doesn't seem too put out by it.]
And what about yourself? Any skills that could assist?
