INTRO LOG
Week Zero

32 in Competition
The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.
A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.
Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.
Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.
It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.

Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.
Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

[ from her tone the answer seems to be a Maybe, at least. naminé gives the room a very quick glance around before her gaze settles back on her. ]
It might be.
no subject
Here you go. Take a look.
no subject
she'll take it, flipping it open just a bit so she can see the pages inside. ]
... it's mine.
no subject
[...]
You got a name, kid? I'm Emma. Sorry that you're stuck in... wherever this might be.
no subject
[ there's a very small shrug of her shoulders. ]
I'm guessing you also have no idea what's going on then?
no subject
[She frowns for a moment, shrugging in turn.]
I'm sure there's somewhere we can find answers. I saw a library earlier, maybe there's a book that'll conveniently tell us where this is and why we're here.
[Her voice betrays her likely she thinks this is, though.]
no subject
[ she assumes. ]
Would you like to go with me?
no subject
Beats wandering around the houses anymore. I doubt we'll find anything here.
[And as such, she starts heading towards the door, looking Namine's way to make sure she's following.]
no subject
she won't be very chatty on the walk over unless spoken to first though. ]
no subject
You seem pretty calm about all this.
no subject
[ at least
openly freaking out, she is screaming on the inside ]
no subject
Smart kid. Still, it's okay to be freaked out, you know?
no subject
[ she isn't sure how accurate all of it is. hers seem to be, even if she would have worded it differently. ]
So it's more than simply snatching us.
no subject
no subject
[ it's said with a slight smile but
her tone doesn't sound too optimistic ]
no subject
That'd be nice, wouldn't it?
[She holds up her hand so she can cross her fingers.]
no subject
[ look, it could happen, some people are just dumb. ]
The fact that they provided houses for us is odd too...
no subject
Like they're expecting us to be here for a while, right? It's weird. Not to mention the elemental lists, which make no sense to me.
no subject
I can't think of anything. We can't even guess based on who brought us here, since we haven't seen them.
no subject
no subject
[ it could literally be something so out there they wouldn't even bother to check for it ]
no subject
[Although even that is still a Mystery.]
no subject
no subject
Well, maybe we'll get lucky and find some kind of clue in here.
no subject
[ she at least sounds cheerful when she says that? instead of dead.
but in they go! ]
... what do you think we should keep an eye out for?
