INTRO LOG
Week Zero
32 in Competition
32 in Competition
The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.
A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.
Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.
Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.
It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.

Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.
Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

[Whether it's because of the abruptness of the awakening or another reason, as soon as she comes to, the first thing she's doing is abruptly backing away from the rest of the group with a sharp noise of surprise. After a few moments of hesitation spent glancing anxiously at the people gathered here, some of the tension seems to leave her posture. She steps forward towards someone who seems particularly nonthreatening, her voice intent.]
Excuse me? Hey, do you know where we are?
inside the meeting hall
[Shortly after asking around and finding no answers as to what might be going on, she enters the building cautiously, reading over all the scrolls with a furrowed brow. She seems like she's muttering under her breath as she scans through all of the information, before turning towards anyone who might have entered.]
Well, I have no idea what any of this might mean for us, but I have a strong suspicion that I'm going to fucking hate it. You got any theories about why there's a quite frankly terrifying level of information about us hanging up here?
[if you're a Child pretend she didn't swear, it's fine]
uno house (closed to naminé)
[After wandering around the rest of the village for a while, she looks inside the houses until she finds the one holding something familiar. When the younger girl comes in, she folds the papers she's holding up, slipping them into her pocket easily. She doesn't smile, but she doesn't look unwelcoming, either. She holds up a hand in a small wave.]
Hey there. I looked around for a while and found something I recognized, so I'll make it easier for you. There's a sketchbook here, you think it might be yours?
no subject
[ from her tone the answer seems to be a Maybe, at least. naminé gives the room a very quick glance around before her gaze settles back on her. ]
It might be.

Here you go. Take a look.

she'll take it, flipping it open just a bit so she can see the pages inside. ]

You got a name, kid? I'm Emma. Sorry that you're stuck in... wherever this might be.

A couple. Nothing good. Though I have to wonder a little about the attitude of the parties responsible for writing all this down and then making it available to us.

[She runs a hand over her hair, sighing.]
Anyways... Assuming this isn't some bizarre dream, what have you wondered about them so far?
no subject
[ or would there be double the meteor so we really do have rocks fall everyone dies. ]

[A frown.]
Hopefully we can avoid even one of each. That'd be great.

Okay, before I say anything else, I feel like I should check if you're joking. You're joking, right?

[ Imagine that math lady meme while Minato tries to work out whether to say yes or no. It's a joke... that he believes in... Both? He can't say that. ]

[Interesting!!]
Hmm. If I had to take a guess, it would be a divine lord of this realm, but I'm unfamiliar with a spirit of such omniscience—or such opinions. Some of these are certainly more critical than others.

Some of this seems weird even if they just wanted to get to know each other, too. Like, why would height and weight matter?
