Week Seven
13 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. As usual, you guys were a big help in purging the darkness that lingered in the gateway from last week. We'll take it from here." There's a pause. "...we've got a new one for you, but there's something really weird about it. It's even larger than the last, so be careful when you're out there."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Would it be odd to say that I believe you are all doing well? Your growth has been admirable.... Have heart as you continue to move forward."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find that somewhere on their person, a small word is printed displaying their most prominent trait. Though they may not agree, or even realize it, this is a trait that most strongly defines them and over the week this trait will slowly become amplified.

[ well, that's fine. throwing your weapon is pretty fucking stupid anyway, so kara dodges around the harpoon and lunges for the creature itself, slashing at the arm that threw it.

he's just gonna trust that lili is doing fine and saving the babies, it's cool. ao is probably going to abandon kara's shoulder to join her at some point. ]

[lili is 100% doing the rest of the mission, making muffled noises of delight whenever she finds a new baby

when ao wanders over to her, her expression brightens and then tries to hug her, which makes her glitch out

and nearly drop the eggs

but she grabs them before they fall it’s fine no one saw]

tsuru moves to help kara but then pauses, as something catches his attention

why is there a baby on what's left of the ice path

why is there another divermon that is moving to the ice path

he is immediately abandoning kara to go in that direction instead goodbye ]

[ at least someone is having a good time

kara starts when tsuru bolts for the ice again, but he's going to trust that he can handle it. in the meantime he has to make sure this thing doesn't spot lili and the eggs, but it's somehow?? reclaimed its harpoon already?? and is taking another dive at kara. it cuts him on the shoulder as he tries to dodge, so he decides to give it a taste of fire in retaliation. ]

[look lili can defend herself fine by now but she’s not going to make herself an easy target when there are two swords around?? but she’ll move to at least try to obscure herself and the eggs - maybe she can find more babies in the foliage anyway

Lili, I'm going to need you to take another one!

[ once he. gets the baby away from this mess.

but he'll run onto the ice, slip slightly, before running to get between the bab and the divermon so he can slash at it. hopefully kara is having a good time. ]

[ tsuru is so graceful

anyway kara's gonna try to force this one away from the ice path so lili has a clear shot at the baby digimon. thanks to his last attack, the rope on the end of the harpoon has caught fire and the divermon has to drop it or sustain even more burns... either way, it's more vulnerable now, so he wastes no more time slashing at its hands, blade wreathed in flame, before stepping in for a jab. ]

Coming!! Ao, guard the eggs!

[ao does a little salute because she's a good squirrel

and now Lili will run off to try to meet tsuru to catch the baby!!]

You can throw it - gently!

[ you fucking assholes, why is the first thing kara sees when he turns back A BABY FLYING THROUGH THE AIR

THIS IS NOT WHAT HE HAD IN MIND WHEN HE BROUGHT THEM OUT TO RESCUE BABIES

the divermon is still kicking so he can't go help yet, but if lili doesn't catch the baby he is never going to forgive either of them for this ]

[they did trust exercises while kara wasn't around

but Lili will make sure that she catches the baby because she would sooner die than risk a CUTE INNOCENT LIFE

but then she'll just scurry back with the baby in her arms]

but he'll go to take care of the other divermon then since the baby is out of the way. ]

If we have all the ones in the area, we could make a break for it.

[ ...well that's slightly disturbing but okay ]

This one's pretty damaged already - we should take them somewhere safe.

[ he'll slowly start backing away from it, glancing over his shoulder at lili ]

Do you need help carrying them?

[how does kara feel about his two favorite people now

but at the question Lili is just going to nod. a lot.]

Both of you should start moving then-- I'll catch up!

[ the other one isn't that injured, so it might still try to intercept. ]

[ kara both loves and hates these idiots

but whatever he'll trust the last one to tsuru and hurry over to lili, sheathing his sword as he goes. ao hops back on his shoulder as he kneels to pick up one of the babies and the other egg ]

This is all of them?

There was one more child -

[that might've scurried off?? she'll pick up an egg and hold the wiggling baby in her arms before going to look for the other one]

Ao, where did it go?

[ao will at least point back the way that they came from]

[ that digibaby thought they were taking too long so it got the fuck out

but tsuru is just going to keep this one occupied until they're safely out of the way. ]

[ at least some of them have survival instincts instead of appearing on an ice bridge that's currently being attacked like SOME DIGIBABIES

but that's fine, kara will just take off in the direction ao points, keeping his eyes open for the last one ]

they're probably hearing a splash because tsuru just fell into the water because it's funny

he just hands the egg back to lili so he can pull the dango back out. the baby in his arms manages to chomp on the first piece before he can even start to look for the lost one. while that one's nomming away, he holds the other pieces out as if that'll help bring it back?? ]

...You'd think they'd be a little easier to keep track of.

[lili glanced back for a second but that's all she has to offer at the moment - for now she's going to try to turn away so the baby in her hands doesn't try to nom more of the dango before they can even try to get the last one

there is some rustling up ahead though - ]

[ i can't believe you guys are just letting me easily kill off tsuru for a second time like this

but he manages to reach shore, and he only has a few cuts from it, which is impressive because trying to get away from an aquatic digimon while under the water is harder than it looks.

[ can you believe kara missed him and is abandoning him so easily lmao

but anyway kara heads toward the rustling leaves and kneels to hold the food out toward it, and the baby almost instantly hops out to munch on it, letting kara easily scoop it up

god they're so cute ]

Alright. We need to get them back.

[ but he does glance behind them for a second as he offers the one lili's holding the last piece of dango ]
