Week Seven

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. As usual, you guys were a big help in purging the darkness that lingered in the gateway from last week. We'll take it from here." There's a pause. "...we've got a new one for you, but there's something really weird about it. It's even larger than the last, so be careful when you're out there."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Would it be odd to say that I believe you are all doing well? Your growth has been admirable.... Have heart as you continue to move forward."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find that somewhere on their person, a small word is printed displaying their most prominent trait. Though they may not agree, or even realize it, this is a trait that most strongly defines them and over the week this trait will slowly become amplified.

Well, nothing unmanageable. But it's not the kind of thing you willingly put yourself through again, is it?

...I guess not. Maybe now isn't the best time to go over it, though.

[They've got babies to save, and all that. As they enter the water region, it's not hard to notice the creatures on the beach, ready to stop them from making progress.]

You got a plan?

[After a moment:]

You go first. You seem like the kind of person they'd get along with.

All right...

[slowly, he walks on over to the nearest one, stopping a safe distance away.]

Hello. We're looking for someone. I don't suppose you could let us pass—or assist us?

[the divermon eyes him suspiciously.]

[She's standing a very small distance behind him, watching for now - but she's definitely ready to attack it if need be. It's fine.]

[the divermon plants one end of the harpoon into the sand and shakes his head, in the universal gesture of "no, gtfo."]

Come on, now... I can admire your dedication, but wouldn't it be easier to let us do what we need to? It'll only go painfully for you otherwise.

[pacifism: threatening to beat up the other party if they don't do what you want.]

[emma is just watching this go down while looking increasingly confused, so the only useful thing i can do is npc a digimon.

anyways, the divermon looks... conflicted. he still isn't standing down, but it seems like shess has successfully planted a seed of doubt.]

You just have to guard it, right? Then why not transfer that duty to us while you do something better?

Why don't you visit your friends in the forest? Perhaps see if you can get them to avoid needless fighting as well. Talking with others seems to suit someone of your temperament better, in any case.

That being said, the divermon does seem even more thoughtful at this. It takes a few steps towards Shess, looking down at the spear it carries as if debating whether to hand it over. A few others in the vicinity seem to be taking notice, as well.]

Why not go together with everyone? [all the divermon can just migrate to the earth area, it's fine] Think of it as a road trip to your next task.

[The other divermon waddle over to stand around Shess, thinking very hard about the proposal he's suggested. They look from their harpoons to him, then back a few times...

Then one of them lays down the weapon, since he said he was taking over their job. Off they go to the air area!! One of them kind of drops a harpoon next to Emma as they wander off, because she's there too, I guess.

As she watches them wander off:]

I... cannot believe that worked.

It's nice to be able to settle things without a fight. Should we go find our target now?
