Week Seven
13 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. As usual, you guys were a big help in purging the darkness that lingered in the gateway from last week. We'll take it from here." There's a pause. "...we've got a new one for you, but there's something really weird about it. It's even larger than the last, so be careful when you're out there."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Would it be odd to say that I believe you are all doing well? Your growth has been admirable.... Have heart as you continue to move forward."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find that somewhere on their person, a small word is printed displaying their most prominent trait. Though they may not agree, or even realize it, this is a trait that most strongly defines them and over the week this trait will slowly become amplified.

[ one (1) baby has been yote!! for what it's worth, though, she seems relatively calm about this, almost like she's used to this exact scenario.

as it turns out, xion's able to grab the egg pretty easily! but she doesn't, as axel had put it, "eat a branch"... because she goes right through it as it glitches out. normally, that wouldn't be too much of a problem... but she needs to protect tamago-chan!! and maybe not break axel's back!! or crack her head open!!

what goes up must come down, and boy is she coming back down fast! ]

Aah—Axel, watch out—!

[leaberator]

[ he has been through this once before in this game with someone a whole lot less athletic than xion, so actually, he expected this? he didn't throw Xion straight up unfortunately and so he has to kinda launch himself a little, so he takes the brunt of it when he lands in a falling leap with xion in his arms and an egg in her arms

and then they all land on top of a giant red plant looking thing? that seems fine. ]

--Gotcha. You both okay?

[ hm. is their cushion groaning. ]

[blackcoats]

[ she groans a little, but she's sure she's in better shape than he is... oops. she gives him a little nod, but she's back into action mode as soon as the silence is broken. ]

. . . What's that noise?

[ she looks at? the egg??? ]

[leaberator]

[ he's fine? he's fine. i mean, he's still a little crushed because he has to let go of her and he does, but--

then they're both thrown away when their cushion throws them off bodily with its... plant arms? oops. that sure is a redvegiemon. Axel lands in a sprawl this time and groans again ]

Watch where you're landing, freaks!!!!

[ it feels a little offensive to be called freak by a giant pepper-tomato with fangs. ]

Xion, you're seeing this too, right.

[blackcoats]

[ she sort of has to tuck into a ball in order to protect the egg as they're sent flying, but otherwise she seems to be okay... and just gives axel a tiny nod. ]

Um, sorry?

[ all things considered this is not the weirdest talking thing she has ever encountered in her life ]

[leaberator]

[ it seems to wind down a bit at the apology, though it glares in axel's direction. axel shrugs back and mutters a sorry himself ]

Be less clumsy, next time! Some of us are trying to live our lives, here!!

[ and it huffs about, leaving. i can't believe we got the non-violent option when i rng'd it. ]

... Okay. [ Lea turns to Xion and. hm. ] Um. Xion? I think your egg's about to explode.

[ it is glowing. ]

[blackcoats]

[ she's about to comment on what a weird little dude that was, but Something's Happening... ]

Wha—

[ SHE FUMBLES THE EGG? BUT QUICKLY CATCHES IT AGAIN BEFORE IT FALLS TO THE GROUND? WHAT'S HAPPENING

she finally decides on holding her arms out as far as she can, turning her blind side to the glow in case it intensifies...??? ]

[leaberator]

[ what a glow up! the egg apparently cracked when they landed, because out of it after the glow ends comes a baby!!! wait. there's a second in the egg, too?!

because xion needed more pets. ]

Um. Congrats? It's twins?

[blackcoats]

[ WHY

ARE YOU GIVING HER

MORE ANIMALS TO FAWN OVER

SHE HAS THIRTEEN CATS AND A TINY OWL

NOW? BABY BOUNCY BALLS??? ]

They're... they're so cute...!!

[leaberator]

[ because it's hilarious. they bounce around, the brown one trying to become one with xion while the green one tries to abscond.

axel catches him and stares. it sputters a few bubbles at him. ]

Well. That's two babies for the price of one. [ god he hopes she doesn't keep those on top of everything ] We've still got a lot of work to do, c'mon.

[blackcoats]

[ shut UP these are her CHILDREN!! she realizes that they're still not done, but... she's so enamored with this lil chocoblob... let her celebrate her new reason to LIVE ]

Hi there...! Can you guys talk like that tomato monster?

[leaberator]

[ they make babbling noises but i am not giving them voices yet because it depends on the fuckin digimon season ]

They're babies, Xion. You gotta give them time to learn.

[ maybe. however the fuck this works. Axel isn't sure what to do with this zippy baby but he has a hood and it's? sort of like a cat? so he puts it there and it seems to calm down. it throws bubbles all over. Xion's chocoblob does some bubbles do to match. ]

C'mon, we got more eggs to find. There's a mansion out here somewhere-- might be something there.

[blackcoats]

But Roxas and I were born knowing how to talk.

[ that. that's different, xion, probably...... but okay! work mode! ]

—Right. Somewhere further in, right?

[leaberator]

You guys are ... special cases.

[ let's not. go into details. anyway off they go deeper in the forest ]

Keep an eye out for more of those eggs! It looks like they just got scattered all over.

[blackcoats]

[ as they trek deeper into the woods, she looks down at the cooing creature in her arms with a curious tilt of her head. ]

Do you think they'd know where the other eggs are? Like... how some animals can find each other by scent or something like that? If they can, that would be a ton of help for us.

[leaberator]

Could be. Might as well ask 'em? [ he turns to face her and the bundle of baby in her arms ] Hey, little guy. Think you know where the rest of the eggs are?

[ this was a critical mistake, because cocomon wriggles out of xion's arms with an excited cry and nyooms the fuck away deeper in to the forest. the one in axel's hoodie jumps out and follows after it. ]

-- Uh-oh. Catch 'em!

[blackcoats]

Whoa—h-hopefully that's a good sign! Wait for us!

[ GUESS WE'RE ON A WILD ORB CHASE NOW... xion feels a little guilty for not keeping a tighter hold on cocomon... IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO HER NEW BABY SHE WILL KILL EVERYONE IN THIS FOREST AND THEN HERSELF ]

[ he's running behind Xion and NO I WON'T KILL OFF THE BABY JFC

but i will speedrun through the forest to get to the mansion and the babies just kind of jumping up and down in front of the spooky doorway :) ]

... C'mon, we were already going there in the first place... did they have to... how do they even get around anyway?

[ HOW DO THEY BOUNCE SO MUCH THEY HAVE NO LEGS? ]

[ as a quick aside: ] There are some Heartless that don't have legs.

[ ANYWAY... as soon as they come upon the mansion, xion bends down and holds out her arms for either one of the bouncy balls to hop over to her... let her cuddle... ]

Good thing they didn't go inside... I don't want to think about what could've happened if we weren't around.

[leaberator]

Well, yeah, but they're darkness. We don't know what these things are.

[ except for adorable, because cocomon is going straight into xion's arms. the green one which is zerimon, however, seems to take that as a challenge and pushes open the door and slips inside. xion's ball blows out a bubble ]

... Xion, you jinxed it. What's with that ball?

[blackcoats]

[ NO!!! ]

W-wait, come back!

[ rising to her feet with cocomon tucked safely in her arms (she hopes), she starts to sprint inside. she doesn't even wait for axel to follow her, because when have his kids ever not been impulsive? ]

Come on, we have to make sure it doesn't get hurt!

[ and also maybe eggies?? ]

We taught you guys about recon, but do you ever use it? Always running headfirst into trouble...

[ he could sound less exasperated yet fond as he steps into the manor Which I've Been Calling A Mansion By KH Habit This Whole Time behind her, looking around for both the missing digimon and. a some eggs, i guess.

they can hear the babble of the baby from up on the second floor. it sure goes fast... ]

What's with this place? Think someone actually lives here?

[ there is a high pitched laugh as he asks this.

[ like owner (?) like digimon?? the giggle sends a chill up her spine for sure, but it probably would've freaked her out a lot more if 1) she hadn't been familiar with halloweentown and 2) hadn't already been having some pretty fucked up times the past seven weeks. ]

. . . Maybe not lives? [ searching for stairs is her priority right now... she looks down at the bubble blowing baby in her arms. ] Let's go find your brother... sister... um, twin!

[leaberator]

[ cocomon coos happily. that's about it. ]

Be careful. We don't know what's waiting for us in that room.

[ because i haven't rng'd it yet. he walks behind her as they go up the stairs, fire at the ready. one door is open just enough for a certain baby to pass through... ]

[ wow i would die for cocomon irl ]

... mm. If we put ourselves in danger, we put everyone in danger.

[ a surprisingly astute observation from someone who just busted into a creepy manor without hesitation... if only that wisdom extended to maybe not letting the half-blind girl be the one to slowly push the door open ]
