Week Seven
13 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. As usual, you guys were a big help in purging the darkness that lingered in the gateway from last week. We'll take it from here." There's a pause. "...we've got a new one for you, but there's something really weird about it. It's even larger than the last, so be careful when you're out there."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Would it be odd to say that I believe you are all doing well? Your growth has been admirable.... Have heart as you continue to move forward."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find that somewhere on their person, a small word is printed displaying their most prominent trait. Though they may not agree, or even realize it, this is a trait that most strongly defines them and over the week this trait will slowly become amplified.

[ of course? it's funny. ]

I've been sending bread already! [ he's laughing ] But sure, I'll keep it up.

Three meals a day, every day, is a lot of bread.

[ Minato's sort of expecting daily shipments of bread, come on ]

...But I was surprised you remembered to send it. I was really happy. You followed through with surprise bread after all, so here's my half of the deal: Sol's cloak is fireproof.

[leaberator]

[ ah. ]

W-wait, you actually set him on fire, or you asked?

[compendiem]

Guess.

[leaberator]

Please tell me you asked.

[ oh my god what has he done ]

[compendiem]

[ ... ]

I asked.

[ But is just saying that because Axel said please? Maybe. ]

[leaberator]

I'm gonna pretend I believe you for the sake of not being yelled at by Sol.

[compendiem]

That's probably for the best. I didn't name names to implicated anybody, so don't worry.

[leaberator]

[ he coughs to hide a laugh ]

Right. Okay. I'm sure he must've been thrilled.

[compendiem]

He was very concerned. But he also taught me to do a kickflip on a skateboard. And gave me cat bandages. It was fun.

[leaberator]

[ he looks. extraordinarily fond at that ]

Yeah, that sounds like him. I'm glad you guys get to hang out still.

[compendiem]

Yeah... I thought I would never see him again, when I died. That I wouldn't get to say goodbye. So I'm glad I have the time now to—

[ glitch the hell out. Minato blinks. ]

...It's like having a seizure, weird... Anyways, it was fun.

[leaberator]

[ ... why was that censored...... hm he hates this ]

It doesn't hurt? The whole... spzzt?

[compendiem]

Uh... It kinda hurts, yeah.

[ But he's not bothered by it... Minato's pain tolerance is maybe a bit off, considering he keeps walking around while he should really be bedridden with increasing injuries as the weeks go by. ]

You know those trick gum toys that shock you when you pull on the stick? But it feels weird so you keep doing it anyways? It's kind of like that.

[leaberator]

Trick gum... Like a joke buzzer? [ hmmm ] So it stings enough to be annoying, but not enough to be painful. Have I got it right?

[compendiem]

Yeah, like that. It's disorienting, and kinda scary imagining everything not coming back after, but it looks really cool.

[ And therefore it's okay ]

[leaberator]

It kinda looks like the stuff on a broken computer screen.

[compendiem]

Blue screen of death... I wonder what happens if we leave it too long. Maybe it won't reboot.

[leaberator]

Is that what it's called? [ what the fuck is a windows. ] Except the it is you, in this case. So let's maybe not test it out.

[compendiem]

It's me, so I can't get any deader.

[leaberator]

What if you stop existing altogether?

[compendiem]

...You won't forget about me, will you?

[leaberator]

[ wow right in his personal issues ]

'Course not. [ he puts a hand to his chest where his heart is ] Always right here, remember? [ and then to MAKE THIS LESS SAD: ] Shouldn't I be the one worried about that? You got brain damage that one time.

[compendiem]

[ Yeah... Minato's great at making the KHs sad.

But the first answer makes him smile, and the second makes him laugh. ]

I got better! Besides... right now, I'm just a soul. A heart and nothing else, so whatever nebulously-corporeal form I have that gets destroyed, it doesn't matter. This sort of thing can't hurt me. I'll always keep you in my heart, same as you for me.
