Week Eight
9 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find three large, swirling masses grey in color looming near the sakura tree. These swirls cannot be approached just yet, but seem to be locked and waiting for something more. Later in the day, if those in the village approach the third mass they will find themselves in a version of their home world. This world is completely void of people, but seems to be just as they last remember it. No darkness will be found in this world as well.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. They don't speak immediately, but wait for all to settle.

I would not allow my play to stand ahead of the young one's safety. If there was more, it would be shared.

[leaberator]

[ he trusts mikazuki that much, after all. but... ]

... perhaps now, more than any other, it would be best if neither of us were to avert our gaze from the truth.

Yet even so - I cannot say that I do not understand, Lea.

[leaberator]

I think I've faced the truth plenty by now.

[ it's a little biting, sorry lune. ]

Isn't there anything else we can do?

[unsaid]

[it's fine, he doesn't seem to take offense even if his expression softens a touch]

... I'll take care of him to the best of my own ability.

[leaberator]

[ and then what? he doesn't want to ask, looking away. ]

.... if you would like to enjoy a drink later once you have had time, you know where to find me.

[leaberator]

... Yeah. I do. [ a beat, then: ] Don't know that there's a drink strong enough for this.

[ please spike his tea ]

[unsaid]

Then we will simply have to dream something up.

[leaberator]

... Kinda feels like dreaming something up is something we've been doing this whole time.

[unsaid]

A dream now and again is a pleasant reprieve, when life becomes too difficult to weather.

Even so... I will always persevere to enjoy the time that I am given.

[leaberator]

[ ... he huffs ]

Maybe that's why we get along.

[unsaid]

Among other reasons, I like to think.

We are friends, are we not?

Our friendship will not falter under the weight of something like this.

[leaberator]

[ that's not what he's afraid of faltering. ]

Yeah. Takes a lot more than that to keep me away from my friends.

[ and yet. ]

[unsaid]

.... that is because you are kind, and good, Lea.

More than you ever allow yourself to believe.

[leaberator]

[ normally he'd get flustered or wave it off, but... he just shrugs ]

Think I'm only ever as good as the people around me.

[unsaid]

And the young one is the best of us.

[he'll say that easily - and proudly]

[leaberator]

[ ... softly: ]

Yeah. He is.

[unsaid]

And for that reason - I believe that we can have faith in what he chooses to do, and the courage he possesses, even in the face of a difficult time.

[leaberator]

It's not a lack of faith.

[ ... but he throws a look at roxas nearby and shakes his head. whatever doubts and issues he has, he doesn't want to say them right now. ]

There's no one I trust more than him.

[unsaid]

[there is a soft smile at that]

... then perhaps it might be easier to discuss later?

Over something to drink, and with the medicine that only time can provide.

[leaberator]

[ he shakes his head, but as small and wry as the smile on his face is, it's still there ]

Yeah. I think I'll take you up on that one.
