Week Eight
9 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find three large, swirling masses grey in color looming near the sakura tree. These swirls cannot be approached just yet, but seem to be locked and waiting for something more. Later in the day, if those in the village approach the third mass they will find themselves in a version of their home world. This world is completely void of people, but seems to be just as they last remember it. No darkness will be found in this world as well.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. They don't speak immediately, but wait for all to settle.

[With everyone gathered in the main hall, the two figures known as Sol and Lune stand in front of their chairs at the back of the room. Their cloaks, the white embroidered with a golden sun and the black embroidered with a golden moon, shroud their appearance with the hoods up.

As Sol looks up at Lune, they wait for him to speak first.]

As you had heard last week, it would appear as your numbers have decreased, the two of us have now found our own positions changing. While we are still able to access areas that you cannot - we have freedom in our vulnerability.

[When Lune has finished, Sol gestures back outside toward the masses near the sakura tree.]

There are also two gateways we were able to open this week in addition to the new one. They're different than the others we've opened in the past, but...they're familiar, too. [They pause then.]

With everything changing, we'd like to introduce ourselves properly, I think.

[They seem to glance toward one another then before they move in sync, hands coming up to reach for their hoods:]

lune.

[lune's hood falls from his head, and unveiled is the pleasantly smiling expression of an honestly unreasonably beautiful man. for those who haven't seen his face before, his namesake becomes obvious as yellow crescent moons seem to be alight in his eyes as pupils.]

My name is Mikazuki Munechika. 'Mikazuki' itself can mean 'crescent moon', so to be called Lune all this time was rather charming. Even by the little light of a waning moon, I hope that my guidance during our time together has proved fruitful. Ha ha ha.

It's a pleasure to face you all properly. We are in a time of great changes afoot. Splendid, splendid.

Do continue to take care of us.

[As the hood is lowered, the first thing to be seen is blond hair that's a little spiked and a little messy. Blue eyes blink curiously at those standing before him, and as he looks over the faces of all standing there he keeps his expression fairly neutral. He loosely folds his arms over his chest, but when he speaks there's a note of confidence there that wasn't present in the earlier weeks.]

...you can still call me Sol if you want, but my name is Roxas. Many of you have met with me before, but some of you haven't. I know I haven't always done my best, but hopefully some things have improved since the beginning.

[He bows his head slightly.] There's a lot happening right now, so just stick with us. We'll be okay.

[nonbelligerent]

Is it really splendid?

[AFTER EVERYONE SPENT THE WEEKEND DEPRESSED?]

[televised]

Don't say it's splendid when you can both die now.

[EVERYONE HAS DEPRESSION, OLD MAN.]

[leaberator]

Hey, at least you didn't spend any of your time here as a zombie.

I think your word choice's raising some eyebrows, Mikazuki.

[ but he thinks it's fine tbh. waves ]

That's been the plan for a while now.

[Hi, gremlin. She's just gonna chill here for a bit.]

So... You said the gateways are familiar to you. How familiar are we talking about, exactly?

[doublebladed]

Ha. Ha. [He says it flatly, but he's grinning up at him anyway. Hi buddy.] But it still worked out, right? [Validate him please...]

[doublebladed]

[Hi North. He at least looks happier to see her, even if he also looks like he hasn't fucking slept.]

Familiar as in...they're home? [Ahah.] How much more familiar can you get?

[leaberator]

Obviously. Haven't I been saying so this whole time?

[ validates his son with a hair ruffle ]

[papawolf]

[ He's not sure if he should feel happy that he was right about Sol being a kid.

Just going to give him a nod to say he'll stick with them. ]

[unfriendliest]

It's about time.

[doublebladed]

Not the whole time. [He ducks his head a little at that ruffle but he seems a little more relaxed than the last time. Maybe it's because he's not in a stuffy hood anymore.] ...but fine, most of the time. Maybe you were right.

[doublebladed]

[A grin.] Thanks Feral...we're hoping to get everything figured out as soon as possible now that this has happened.

[leaberator]

"Maybe"? There's no maybe, I'm always right!

[ is he. ]

[doublebladed]

Says who? [But it gets a laugh out of him, so there's that.]

third gateway

[so if you happened to enter the gateway with shess and rng decides to give you his—

well. it's not a nice place. the sky is a vivid red and the land mostly desolate, save for scatterings of—also red—plants and flowers, and butterflies flitting by. in particular, the terrain seems to be the mountains, high in the sky as mist surrounds the region.

oh, and it'll be hard to breathe, especially for humans. even if you don't need to, you'll probably still feel the poison in the air (unless you're, like, north), strong enough to make one tremble. probably don't want to stay here long.

and if you try using your powers, you'll find they're drastically weakened, so there's that.

[ in front of the train station you can find axel there, staring up at the clock tower wistfully. he's got his hands stuffed in his pockets but he raises on to wave at anyone who comes close by. if anyone but xion and roxas show up, he'll offer: ]

Need a tour? I'm pretty familiar with this one. I can show you the best Twilight Town's got to offer!

[ roxas and xion get him to perk up and point to the clock tower because OBVIOUSLY THEY GOTTA, anything else is irrelevant ]

[ ... or you can also find him in the white room in the mansion, looking at some of the drawings in this place with a very sadsack expression. ]

[ well. he's seen worlds be pretty bad, but usually he could still breathe in them, so stepping in here makes him wish he was wearing a scarf again so he could pull it up.
