week eight: mingle

Week Eight
9 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find three large, swirling masses grey in color looming near the sakura tree. These swirls cannot be approached just yet, but seem to be locked and waiting for something more. Later in the day, if those in the village approach the third mass they will find themselves in a version of their home world. This world is completely void of people, but seems to be just as they last remember it. No darkness will be found in this world as well.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. They don't speak immediately, but wait for all to settle.

Welcome to your week eight mingle! We have now hit endgame week.

In addition, ensure that all of your week seven private conversations were reported on the page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

... It's tempting to answer as I usually have, but this one time, I think I'll let the dance end.

Thank you.

... oh?

[and despite the situation and the topic at hand - that manages to get lune to smile, sincere and pleased.]

Then I am sure that it will pick up again in time - but for now...

You have made this old man very happy already.

... You're the happy one because I accepted your comment? That seems a little backwards to me.

It means that I am getting to you - little by little, does it not?

Perhaps I am a bit selfishly happy over such a thing.

... In that case, know that you probably got to me more than you think.

.... Shess.

[a soft use of his name, and lune's hand moves to rest gently at the back of shess' head, guiding him down so that it would be easier for their heads to bow closer to one another and for their foreheads to touch]

I do not plan to go until I must.

And even if I am to leave, I will not be gone for long.

Know that well.

[...]

I'll hold you to that, then. It gets tiring, sometimes, being left behind.

And I do still need to repay my debt.

Oh my? What debt would that be?

[it comes with a little tilt of his own head, curious]

[he holds up a finger to his lips, smiling.]

You'll have to figure that out for yourself.

Ah?

[hmmmm]

Is this how it feels to be on the receiving end of my riddles...

Hm...

Then I will do my best to solve it before my time is up.

Good luck. It's hardly a difficult mystery.
