On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

[WHELP GUESS NANA IS DOING THIS NOW.

She allows the stranger to drag her, if only because she's so shocked that he didn't even ask her name?? Goodness, your manners, young man.]

What exactly am I helping with again?

[yokeye]

[Manners fall by the wayside when there's an emergency.]

Helping me find where this annoying music's coming from!

[He gestures to... everything. Because it's everywhere.]

[daibanana]

[Nana is so accustomed to hearing music in the background that she hadn't even really noticed the festival tunes. Such is the life of a theatre kid.

But once it's brought to her attention, she gets why her newest acquaintance is bugging out. She... can't tell what direction the sound is coming from.]

Aaah, how mysterious! Like something out of a book.

[Not that it's going to keep her from being amused as heck]

[yokeye]

A book? Haha, I was thinking more like, you know, a horror game... and suddenly there's creepy music and then weird little ghost-possessed children just pop out of nowhere!

[He's now looking around for said ghost children.]

[daibanana]

[ALSO LOOKING AROUND FOR GHOST CHILDREN though for entirely different reasons]

If they come out, it'd be a night, wouldn't it? Under the cover of darkness where no one can tell which direction they came from~

[Is she helping? she's helping, right?]

[yokeye]

[She is absolutely not helping.]

They're going to take over the village tonight and kill everyone while we're sleeping!

[That his housemate is a demon vampire is still somehow less frightening than ghost children.]

[daibanana]

[asldfhasoifahosidfh okay you gotta slow your roll a little, sir

She'll be nice enough to give his hand a squeeze]

Now now, we haven't found any evidence of ghosts so far! Just music we can't track down.

[So uh, time to go find that, then! Though the "how" is what has Nana stumped]

[yokeye]

[The roll cannot be slowed once engaged. He grips her hand tightly.]

It's coming from everywhere, so maybe it's not! It's inside our heads and we're just imagining we're hearing this music, but there's no actual sound and those who can hear it are the ones marked for death from the ghost children!

[daibanana]

Well, if we're really marked for death, there's probably no changing it.

[SERENE AS CAN BE, in part because she does not believe they're going to be dying anytime soon, but it's best to keep calm against all of this spazziness]

All we can do now is try to see where the music is coming from! Come, let's try this way first.

[Honestly just picking any random direction, to try and take this guy's mind off his fear]

And while we're walking... hmm, how about we play 20 questions?

[yokeye]

There's always time to change things!

[He follows Nana, looking around every now and then for signs of something watching them or the like.]

Okay, 20 questions! What is your name? Do you like this music? Do you believe in ghosts? Which power do you think you have from the meet house scroll!? Do you like hot or cold tea? Same question, but for coffee! I heard there's hot springs; have you been to them? Do you have any siblings? What do you call your hairstyle? It's very pretty! Can birds talk where you're from? What's your favorite color? Where was the last place you went on vacation? What do you think is really going on here? Do you think this world is real at all? Do you like your house here? What did you have for breakfast? Do you like dogs or cats or both? Do you believe in the five second rule? Have you ever eaten eels? Do you prefer summer or winter?

[daibanana]

Daiba Nana! A pleasure to meet you.

And yes, the music is nice, I think! Even if I don't know where it's coming from.

As for ghosts, I think they could be real, but I've never seen one before, haha.

And I don't know what my power is yet... I haven't really tried anything.

Oh, but I much prefer tea. Especially green tea when it's warm. I only drink coffee when I need help waking up in the morning, otherwise I don't like either version.

[Tapping her chin, hmmm...]

I haven't been to the hot springs yet, no. And no, I'm an only child.

[There's another pause, though this time to use her free hand to bounce her pigtails, obviously pleased he noticed her style] I call it Daiba Nana's Signature Banana Hair, of course~

No, birds don't talk where I'm from. Giraffes do, though.

[Haha, that's a joke. ^_^]

And my favorite color is yellow and green! They're so bright and pretty and always make me feel better.

[It's at this point she's lost count of the questions, or even what was asked. So she will giggle and concede defeat with a smile]

Sorry, I forgot the other questions -- oh wait, you asked if I think this world is real.

I think even if it's not, we probably can't leave until we do what Sol-san and Lune-san say. So we might as well treat the world like it's real.

[yokeye]

[She answered almost all of them; he likes her immediately and she's sufficiently distracted him from ominous thoughts of ghost children. He stifles a laugh at Daiba Nana. His name is ridiculous too, but not... that bad. He bows.]

It's a pleasure to meet you too, Daiba-san~! I'm Rikugou Tokidoki! The music... is okay I guess if you don't think about the other aspects, you're right~! Ghosts are definitely real! I've seen a lot of them! Well, they might not be real here, but... I haven't tried anything for powers either; I'm kind of, you now, suspicious about it...

[And worried he won't be able to do anything or control it should he figure out what it is. That's been his experience with randomly given powers. It's best not to use them if you can help it.]

Do you want to go to the hot springs!? That could be fun~! I'm an only child too-

[The hair... is bananas. That's why it looked different; they're styled to look like bananas.]

Giraffes!?

[Somehow, giraffes talking sounds stranger than birds. He smiles at her explanation of why she likes the colors she does.]

Yellow is a very happy color, Daiba-san~! I think it will be easier to treat this world like it's real with you here~!

[Pleased with his reaction, Nana lets him ramble off his own replies while still leading them ... somewhere. No particular direction. She'd rather enjoy the company than figure out the mystery of the sourceless music, honestly.]

Rikugou-san, then!

And I wouldn't mind going to the hot springs. My school had a huge bath where we could relax... between you and me, it's one of the things I miss most.

[Sometime's a girl's gotta marinate in really hot water to deal with finals, just saying.

But goodness, that compliment. She's not really expecting it and so it catches her off-guard, enough to warrant a side glance and some measure of bashfulness]

Mmm? You really think so?

[What a flatterer. She beams a little in response, though.]

[Also um hold the heck up--]

You've seen ghosts? Really?

[yokeye]

I don't remember if my school had something like that; it probably did!

[He shrugs. He didn't really... attend very often.]

I do think so~! You're very sweet and positive!

[His smile falters a little when the topic gets back to ghosts.]

Yeah, they're... around. Like once, there was a whole pathway thing full of them, a ghost road! It was creepy!

[daibanana]

[Sorry, buddy, Nana looks both impressed and intrigued by this topic, and turns to him with a twinkle in her eye]

Is that something only you can see? Or can everyone from your town see ghosts?

[yokeye]

Oh, well that's a long story, kind of...

[Which he will tell her.]

Okay! So I failed a history test and I had to do this like make up essay on some virtual reality historical exhibit at the museum or whatever but it like came to life or there was a portal maybe or I don't really know, but suddenly there was a demon and it ripped my eye out, like actually ripped it out and stuff, but when I woke up it was there there; the eye, not the demon, and I couldn't see out of it like normally, but I can see ghosts with it and like some other people can there, but there isn't my home really like it's some other place and that's where the ghosts are, not in the like real world or the world I came from originally! Does that make sense!?

[daibanana]

No, not really.

[SORRY FOR THE HONESTY]

But if you say it happened, then I believe you.

... And no wonder you're so nervous at the thought of ghosts.

[This poor guy got his eye ripped out? Like yikes, that's some hardcore origin story.]

If there are ghost children, maybe I'll see them coming~!

Me?

[Looking. tripped up by the interest. She honestly wasn't expecting this sudden shift in topic]

Well... I'm currently attending Seisho's Music Academy. We study all types of theatre performance and production there.

[yokeye]

Theatre~! That's great, Daiba-san~! I bet you're the star of the show; you have the face for it~!

[daibanana]

[... poking at her cheek a little bit, as if trying to verify the truth of this statement.]

I try my best~ But no, there are many more talented girls than me. I'm more suited to script writing, I think.

[yokeye]

Oh? What was your last play about~!? Romance, tragedy, comedy?

[daibanana]

... A tragedy.

[Voice softening, though it's in fondness]

Have you ever heard of a play called "Starlight?"

[yokeye]

I haven't. Is it really sad?

[He hasn't seen many, or any, plays.]
