week zero: mingle

Week Zero
32 in Competition

On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

I don't know if we have blood for you to drink here, though...

[Erm. Outside of the more obvious sources.]

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-04 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
These fish are fresh, whole and raw. They're full of fresh blood, omega three fatty acids and B vitamins.

[Why is he out here promoting heart health?]
daibanana: (11)

[personal profile] daibanana 2019-06-04 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh, so you don't need the blood of humans!
omegathree: (05)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-04 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
No, it's not necessary.

[For him, specifically.

Also there's no way he's going to start chowing down on humanity here.]
daibanana: (13)

[personal profile] daibanana 2019-06-04 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
[That is good bc that would do Nana a Concern, honestly]

Does this mean you can't eat human food at all? Or just that you don't prefer to?
omegathree: (09)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-04 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
I can eat most human foods, but I prefer sweets.

[Feed Val sugar.]
daibanana: (11)

[personal profile] daibanana 2019-06-04 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
[PERFECT]

Okay! I'll keep it in mind the next time I make something.
omegathree: (18)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-04 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
There's no need, lass. I'll be perfectly fine.
daibanana: (14)

[personal profile] daibanana 2019-06-04 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, you're sure?

I'll be cooking anyway, so please let me know if you change your mind!
omegathree: (09)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-04 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
I only need the sardines to keep alive.

[And for nobody to chop off his head probably.]

What do you cook?
daibanana: (11)

[personal profile] daibanana 2019-06-04 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Whatever everybody needs!

... Though I love baking the most. Especially cakes, pies, cookies, pudding...

[THE LIST GOES ON]
omegathree: (09)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-04 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
You're quite the generous soul, aren't you?
daibanana: (4)

[personal profile] daibanana 2019-06-04 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, well... I figure with everything that's happened, the least I can do is make sure everyone eats well while we're here.

So even if you don't need to eat, let me know if you ever are in the mood for something sweet~
omegathree: (06)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-04 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Hmhm... [It's such a low and ominous chuckle.]

I'll certainly keep you in mind.
daibanana: (17)

[personal profile] daibanana 2019-06-05 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you~

[it seems only right to thank him for it!

... Though now that that's out of the way--]

Oh, right, I was going to try and cook a sardine!
omegathree: (05)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-05 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
You'll have better luck on a stovetop than in a volcano.
daibanana: (18)

[personal profile] daibanana 2019-06-05 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
The volcano would be too hot, then...?
omegathree: (05)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-05 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
How are you going to get it in and out of the volcano?
daibanana: (19)

[personal profile] daibanana 2019-06-05 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[--]

I. Didn't think that far ahead.
omegathree: (39)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-05 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[... Okay Val doesn't have much talent for forethought, but this is becoming concerning.]

At least you won't be burning your hands.
daibanana: (40)

[personal profile] daibanana 2019-06-06 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Sometimes humans just be like that]

That would be a problem... then I wouldn't be able to cook for everyone.

[SO UH. Vetoing that volcano idea, hehehe]

I'll just cook mine on the stove like you suggested.
omegathree: (11)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-06 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Excellent plan. Do not cook on a volcano when there's a perfectly functioning stove.]

Is that something you do often?
daibanana: (34)

[personal profile] daibanana 2019-06-06 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Cooking?

Yes, I cooked for my classmates back home all the time.
omegathree: (11)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-06 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
How kind of you. Have you seen anyone from home here?
daibanana: (27)

[personal profile] daibanana 2019-06-07 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Just one.

My roommate, Junna-chan.

[A pause. She glances sideways]

Despite how strange the situation is, I'm glad she's here with me.
