On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

The easiest way to test that is to destroy stuff, but the stuff there is to destroy benefits us to keep around.

What if we destroy something that's meant to be destroyed? Like food.

[Logic: you would eat food anyway, ergo it'd be destroyed.]

Then destroying it wouldn't prove anything!

It's a lot harder to break and change the rules when we don't have any idea what they would consider a rule anyway. [Sigh.] But at least the gates are gone. No monsters so far.

That's why we should be testing our limits. We should be figuring out what the rules are.

If you were in charge of this place, what's the first rule you'd make? [Lay it on him, he's bad at making rules because rules never actually apply to him.]

Hmmm.

Nametags for everyone.

Is it that confusing? [He's been managing names just fine, but Akane might be on to something.] They'd have to be the kind that stay on really well. Not those sticker things.

[specialdog]

It's not confusing, it's just a hassle. [ she's just being lazy. ] Maybe the kind that are pins so that people could change them with their clothes.

There's a bunch of pins in that clothing shop. If we assign everyone a color and stitch their name in it it'll be easier to remember. [He's bored, give him a project. Also this isn't magic, so uh.]

...if we melt the pins a little they'll stick even better.

That sure sounds like a lot of work, though... I'm trying to avoid hassles.

[ she's more than happy to give you a project. stop saying we!!! ]

[He is physically incapable of not using we, it's called co-dependency!!]

My job is just to make the rules, it's up to everyone else to figure out how to follow.

[Spoken like a true overlord.] We can probably find someone else to follow orders. How hard can that be?

Some people are perfect for it, but these are all strangers. I don't think they'll just listen to anything anyone tells them to do.

They will for the right price. [Just a thought.]

But I don't really have much to offer for it.

Well they don't have to know that.

You want me to lie to people?

Is it really a lie if they don't know you're omitting the truth? [Loopholes are great.]

Kind of a grey area, huh?

Guess so. But it's always interesting to see what people say about that sort of lie.

[specialdog]

I think not giving people a reward you promised them is a pretty bad one.

[ but morality is flexible and lies aren't a huge deal to her, so. shrugs!! ]

Only if you promise them a great reward. Is it really your fault if they make their own assumptions?

It's not an assumption if they're going off stuff you imply.
