Week Zero

On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

[Who the fuck is thaT? Hisoka is dressed his very best, and he looks almost like a completely different person. Aside from the fact the suit is white, and he is not pure in the slightest, he doesn't look bad. It's fine. The only additions are a tall, white top hat and a brooch sitting at the peak of his tie.]

[He's holding one of the brushes by the table with the paints. His own face hasn't been touched, and it's lacking the star and teardrop, but he's smiling anyway. This is familiar.]

Shall we? [He raises the brush.] What would you like?

[He is never not there, so don't be terrified when he suddenly appears out of the woodwork nearby and extends his nailed hand. Boy or girl, it doesn't matter.]

[He's still a little sore about Val not going apeshit and giving him a good fight, but whatever... There's always time.]

There's nothing to do here, so... Are you going to dance? [He gets a very small shit-eating grin.] Are there rituals to asking a vampire to dance?

[Which is apparently Val for "yes," so he'll be taking that hand.]

No. Humanity's vampire lore seems to be about inviting us in and how to kill us.

[How do you face paint an already animalish creature? Hm. He pauses for a bit with the brush up, thoughtful.

And then he paints something that is very much peacock feathers across the forehead and muzzle. Greens and blues and golds. Tada.

Enjoy your slightly elevated ego and stuff.]

[Grim Eyes never lacked an ego, but having it elevated more...feels nice. She turns her head around haughtily]

At least you were competent enough for the task.

[The star and tear that usually are on Hisoka's face had seemed simplistic, but looks like he can paint more than that, she thinks! Yeah, apparently Grim Eyes is not too kind with her newly inflated ego]

[ they are mildly terrified, thanks!! They also jerk back like he thrust a dagger at them rather than offered his hand - which they follow up with a mighty scowl, the little silvery blobs of liquid floating in the air around them spiking like angry hedgehogs. ]

He looks surprised by the reaction, but not insulted. He doesn’t lower the hand at all even if he isn’t trying to grab.]
