On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

But if there is to be a greater power at play, then know that young one and I are messengers and occasionally the ones to carry out its will.

Certainly - someone had to. But it did not have to be you, and no one directed you to complete the task.

For that willingness to step forward, you have my gratitude. I hope I will be able to repay you in time.

You have a mission, isn't it? Something vital to you.

It is understandable. The young one and I are in similar situations. The same could be said of many others here.

[but kara doesn't like talking to people... oh well, lune can pay messenger]

I explained to your companion that for the time being, time has stopped where you all were before this moment. It will not proceed without you, but I understand that means that many things were left unresolved.

However if matters here are not taken care of, I worry that it will not be possible to return you to your places at all.

[ . . . and they'll let their gaze drift to the sky for a moment]

Even so... until we receive more answers as to how to move forward, it did not seem right to leave everyone to brood and stew in uncertainty. A negative outlook may drain the mind and body faster than any illness.

Please take the food to strengthen yourselves again, and the chance to relax briefly before the real work begins.

[ and again, he wonders how truthful lune and sol are being. assuming it is true, it's... not quite a relief that time has stopped, apparently, but it would mean Munemura isn't fighting the Revisionists alone, at least.

on the other hand, ookurikara doesn't trust either of them as far as he can throw them. there's a quiet anger in his voice as he asks: ]

[ again, he wonders what the point of even having lune and sol around is if all they can offer are vague thoughts and "we'll see"s.

he'd like to say the same for the party, but he's seen how they can boost troop morale, both as a sword and at the citadel. guess he can't argue that one. ]

...What is the real work supposed to be?

[lune's voice is soft, understanding. where kara will approach them with anger, they will only match him with an untouchable calm.]

To combat the instability of this place, the heart of the universe. Yet at this point, we do not know the form in which that instability might take. If it is something tangible that can be fought, or if it is something that needs to be repelled.

... the alternative, of course, is to allow the instability to continue unchecked.

While I would not prefer it... the young one and I are not to interfere with the decisions of everyone here.

Whatever it is that each of you seek, your wills are just as important.

[ way to state the obvious there buddy, and yet somehow still say nothing at all. ]

None of that means anything to me.

[ not knowing what they're supposed to do... what good is that? ]

Can you at least explain... [ he struggles to find the word, hands clenching and unclenching at his sides. ] ...the magic? How to control it?

but at that, lune will hum thoughtfully. how to best explain the magic...]

[ he and tsuru literally just discussed this possibility the other day smh... but his surprise comes less from the confirmation and more from the unexpected offer. ]

Indeed. And I believe that if any might earn your ire enough to warrant being your practice opponent, then it would be none other than myself.

Shall we meet after the conclusion of the festivities?

[ that gets a flat stare, and a quick glance at sol. who are you trying to fool.

...but it's not like they have any other leads, either for these new powers or... anything, really. they still don't know anything about these two, or what they're supposed to be doing here beyond these vague explanations sol and lune like so much. it'll be like scouting out the enemy.

finally, decision made, ookurikara nods. ]
