On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

[they repeat it as if they're testing out a new word that they've never said before

[ he repeats it a lot more confidently this time around, because explaining things is?? easier?? than feelings??? allegedly ]

S'just a casual way of saying no. [ he shrugs ] I don't think that's really accurate.

[cyclists]

Hmm... then perhaps we ought to disagree until I can better persuade you.

[that's not agreeing to disagree, lune what are you doing]

If nothing else, you are willing to give others a chance. That, in itself, is an incredible skill.

No, not that. More like... I was given a second chance after I kinda messed things up for a long while.

Me too. It would've been pretty lame if I didn't get one.

[ because he'd be perma-dead, but let's not explain the inside joke ever. ]

But enough about that boring stuff. This is your festival, right? You gonna participate?

[cyclists]

[a thoughtful hum at that]

Is that an invitation to join you as you partake?

[they don't want to assume, but they nonetheless sound amused at the prospect]

[leaberator]

Yep, you got it right on the munny. I'm kinda rusty on dancing, but this is a festival, right?

[ he holds out a hand?? to make this??? terrible??? ]

Very well. Though I do continue to think you find me more sprightly than I truly am.

[but they'll take axel's hand? anyway? lune's version of dressing up under the garb seems to be that they're wearing smooth black gloves to cover their hands today.

If you tell me you're afraid you're gonna break a hip, I might reevaluate, but for now I'm settling on thinking you the exact right amount of sprightly.

[ it's fine if kaoru didn't force him otherwise he'd have kept his old clothes, gloves are absolutely fancy enough. anyway he's doing it he's dragging an npc to the dance floor?? he's even doing a mock half-bow once they get there to let them decide on the kind of dance

[there is a laugh and then thoughtfully - ]

Perhaps I might break something...?

[a hip, an ankle, a funny bone - but regardless lune has no issue with this unfortunately. they'll allow themselves to be led toward the dance floor, and even if axel's half-bow is mocking, they will perform a deep bow, head lowered and one arm extended to the side in an elegant flourish.

then, rising]

Is there a type of dance that you would prefer?

[they don't mind being led, they seem fairly confident in keeping up, all things considered]

[leaberator]

Yeah. Nothing too complicated so I don't break one of your bones by messing up a step. [ that's a long, unfunny way to say dealer's choice, axel. ] But this festival was your idea, right? So how about the kinda dancing you'd have done if you went somewhere like this back in your world?

[cyclists]

[axel is asking a very strange question but lune will appear to be thoughtful at that before suddenly pulling out two ornate hand fans? one fan gets handed to axel]

Then I might have some steps that I will need to teach you.

well he's already agreed to this so even though he looks completely one hundred percent baffled (where? did? lune get those???) he does take the fan.

If it were a type of dance that I were to partake in... I believe it would be something like this - and fans are safer props for a performance.
