On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.
The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.
When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.
Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.
In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.
Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?
Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

Welcome to your tutorial week mingle log! Please see all the links within the log to check out the new updates. In addition, your status page has been updated. In case you missed it, please report all item theft to this top-level where all comments are screened. Private conversations are also open and should be reported under the Week 0 top-level.
A mini-event will also be posted on Wednesday, June 5th, so please keep an eye out for that!

Everyone acting the same is just boring for the audience.

...you're already helping out by cooking for people. [They've heard about that, at least.]

[Almost pausing mid-step like she's been caught redhanded, but manages to conduct herself at the last second before tripping both of them up. Her expression turns a little bashful]
I-- I mean, I couldn't leave everyone here hungry. And I cook a lot back home, too.
[a smaller smile]
It's nice to be able to keep helping.

I've read those scrolls. I think we're kind of lacking in that department, so it's a really big help. [Food is needed to live, so thanks for keeping everyone alive.] It's still really nice of you. Some people might be more selfish about it.

[Head tilting in thought, trying to imagine this]
You mean someone who knows how to cook but wouldn't be willing to share that skill?

We need to pool our resources together to combat the darkness.
[That's what they were brought here for, after all.
... Though that's a pretty dark thought for what's supposed to be a dance, so expression suddenly mischievous, Nana stops and gives Sol a twirl. Hehehehe.]

Whoa! [Spinning! They're spinning and they grapple for her hands to stay upright.
...but there's also a laugh.] Give me a break. I'm still learning here, remember?
no subject
[LOOK AT THIS FACE. Definitely the expression of someone who feels bad for their crimes]
But you're doing so well! I was terrible when I first learned how to dance, y'know.
no subject
You're really good though...are you a fast learner? [They seem to have this idea that Nana being bad at this is ludicrous.]
no subject
I just... try my best.
[And worry obsessively hard to reach the results she wants, but there's no humble way to say it.]
no subject
...sometimes I think that's even more important than being really good at things. You can always learn to be better, but you can't always learn how to try harder, right? [Work ethic is the concept they mean but they're just not phrasing it right...]
no subject
She gets what they mean, though, and looks plenty happy, offering up an embarrassed laugh]
It's a useful skill back at home, at least! I'm always having to learn new things and work on them. Sometimes it's the hard effort that wins in the end.
[Though with that, the dance finally slows itself to a stop (
bc I see u, captcha, trying to sneak up on us), with Nana pulling back and offering a bow to her dance partner.-- And then immediately clapping her hands like she's an audience]
Look at that! You did it, Sol-san! Your first dance!

All because of you. [There's a grin evident in their voice.] I don't know if I'll ever need to do this again, but it was fun. Thanks a lot, Nana.
[They're saying this but they're also grateful because they enjoyed themselves.]
