On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

[politely, and that ever-present smiling tone remains in their voice]

Hmm... Have you ever been able to partake in a reverie in order to lift spirits and morale?

[globs]

No. And I'm not interested in starting now.

[ it feels like a waste of time. ]

Aren't you the ones who wrote all those scrolls? You should already know.

[cyclists]

[there's a shake of their head]

If you mean that we know all there is about you... I'm afraid that's incorrect. We are aware of what's written on the scrolls, but no more than that.

Perhaps that's why I'm quite glad you've chosen to speak with me of your own accord. Thank you for your time.

[globs]

[ huh. that's odd. they'll need to ask about that, too... ]

You think flattering me will make me trust you?

[ Nothing good has ever come from the moon. They can't imagine anyone at all being glad to get to talk with them, anyway. ]

[cyclists]

Flattery... [they sound vaguely amused at the idea, but they still shake their head] No, not quite.

I would not be able to learn more about you if we did not speak, and you would not be able to learn about me. Without that point of contact, we couldn't begin to understand one another.

I suppose that's all it is.

['that's all' they say,,]

[globs]

We don't need to understand each other. All I need to understand is what you brought me here to do. [ a pause; then they add: ] And don't bother telling me about the core of the universe again, or whatever that was... You know as well as I do that didn't actually answer anything.

[cyclists]

[a soft laugh at that]

It is understandably an answer not to the liking of many people here, but I wonder what else I might offer if it is the only one we currently possess.

Rather... I believe understanding one another, not just you and I, but you and the rest of the participants here, is of great importance to preparing for our next task.

[globs]

Why do you think that?

[ this person seems confident enough that Cinnabar believes they must have a reason behind their thoughts. ]

[cyclists]

If it was not necessary, why would it be done?

The young one and I dwelled here for some time before the rest of you arrived. To begin with, it was not simply myself, but the two of us. We spent the days talking and growing to understand one another - which I believe is to the benefit of everyone here, as we are able to work in conjunction rather than opposition.

If the goal in this place is harmony, I believe that it requires knowledge of each other in order to work together.

[globs]

Is that the goal? "Harmony?"

[ hum. ]

Something as unreliable as that... We won't even know when we've achieved it.

[cyclists]

You all have to decide on which you would prefer - the other option is chaos. While I wouldn't prefer it... I am not participating.

[so what lune wants doesn't matter]

I believe there is meant to be a tangible goal to be given to us... but for whatever reason, that has not been communicated to either myself or the young one.

Once we know it, so will you.

[globs]

... Do you have any idea at all who brought us all here?

[ they look into the darkness of that hood, trying to get a glimpse of their features, but no luck. ]

[cyclists]

Do you not believe in the tides of fate? The intentions of the universe?

[though by the tone of their voice, it also seems that they wouldn't blame them]

I am afraid I possess no greater explanation than that.
