On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

his expression changes again, to something delighted, and that's why his grip on lune tightens and he'll make another attempt at dipping them.

this one will probably go a little more smoothly, since it's not as stupid as his first go. ]

that is fine - except gravity still happens, and lune's hood appears as though it might begin to slip

except they trust tsurumaru enough that their hand instead comes to hold onto the edge of the hood before it slips off of their head, rather than holding onto him

odd, the darkness remains in place

but they'll comment lightly instead]

Hmm, I believe that puts you at thirteen.

[ ah... so the hood can move.

he just looks at them for a moment, like he's willing for lune's hand to slip and for the hood to fall even further... except, it doesn't happen, so tsuru just lets out a breathy laugh.

and then pull lune back up, so that they're pressed against each other for a moment before he takes a small step back. ]

Am I ahead of everyone?

[they really didn't need to stay pressed together? but also lune isn't protesting which is pretty bad.

anyway lune will take a matching step back and their hand lowers from their hood once they're steady again, thinking on the question]

Mmm... That is hard to say. As I mentioned, the competition is quite fierce...

You have to have some sort of idea! There has to be someone who's ahead of the others!!

[ why is tsuru acting like he didn't make up this competition himself and then just forced it onto lune

but he's waiting very intently on their answer? he's even leaning in slightly again, staring very hard at them as if that'll make them answer faster. ]

[lune is thinking very hard on this since it appears to be a great responsibility indeed

they do not seem to be bothered by the intensity of tsuru's stare

[but they don't seem bothered? there's still a smile in their voice - a playfulness]

What did Sol do to make them get ahead?

[ he is trying not to sound whiny but it's still there.

despite that, tsuru's eyes are sparkling like he still think it's funny, so he can't be too genuinely upset about anything. ]

lune will laugh again at that before turning left, and right, rather obviously as a full head movement, and then will look back to tsuru before whispering conspiratorially]

Sol is dancing. With a friend, at that.

tsuru turns back to sol after. ]

This is a most pleasant surprise indeed. The festival is already brighter, can't you tell?

[ he lets out an exaggerated sigh, one that's supposed to feign annoyance. ]

Ah, man, I'm not sure if I can compete against that...

[ sol has a clear advantage here and tsuru is not sure how to top it? ignore the fact that this contest isn't real. ]

but lune can't help but laugh at that]

[ he still looks disappointed for like five seconds

except he can't keep the grin from appearing on his face, so it kind of ruins the act. ]

I'll give you the biggest surprise you'll ever have. So just wait for it, I won't disappoint you.

I have grown accustomed to waiting.

I am sure that this will be a surprise worth waiting for.

[ the hand that's on lune's will shift, so that his fingers can pinch the end of their glove.

and he'll move to pull it off. ]

[ the glove slips off, and he'll curl his fingers around it. ]

I'll be keeping this as a souvenir.

[ he does not think lune will actually accept the offer considering they are obviously keeping their identities a secret, but he'll still smile regardless.

and then lune asks the question, and he'll shrug as he tucks the glove away. ]
