On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

[Not that Minato can see it, but Sol is absolutely watching this progression and doesn't even think of how sad it is for the whale or how gross that might look. They're concerned the ice cream might melt is all.]

I think it's full enough...

[compendiem]

[ It's not ice cream mochi, it's milkshake mochi ]

Alright... Careful.

[ Gotta eat it all in one bite. Minato goes ahead and makes one for himself too. ]

[cyclists]

[Soon to be devoured mochi because Sol takes it from Minato, holding it for a few moments to adjust it in their grip so it doesn't spill on their fingers.

And there it goes. Goodbye, mochi, you were delicious and Sol will think of you fondly.]

[compendiem]

[ Minato carefully chews his mochi before swallowing, then picks up another mochi to nibble on it plain. ]

...Can I ask you a question?

[cyclists]

You kinda just did. [But they're relaxed enough that they nod in reply.] What is it?

[compendiem]

[ I had a question and then I went to bed and forgot what it was, so instead, what Minato asks is ]

Do you want to have dinner together someday?

[cyclists]

[That's a mood. But it's fine because this question actually gets a pause.]

...yeah. That'd be nice, actually. [Sol isn't used to a lot of new people, but getting to know people hasn't been so bad so far.]

[compendiem]

[ Minato immediately brightens up from that, because it was a 50-50 chance in his mind that he'd get turned down. Grim Eyes was wrong, he thinks to himself: people do like eating together, no matter how different they are. ]

Whenever you're not busy, then... You know where my house is? I think Kazuaki's got his name up on the side of it. [ actually- ] Do you and Lune have a house too?

[cyclists]

Yeah. We figured out where all of you are staying after the first couple of days, so we can do that. [Sol kind of sounds very pleased with this prospect. Minato's very bizarre but at the same time he's been nothing but nice, so it works out.]

We have places we're staying, but they're not here. And we don't live together. Just close by.

[compendiem]

[ Sol: "Minato is weird, but nice"
Minato: bullying people into eating his fish blood tofu ]

Oh. Though maybe you were close, or family, or something. Why not stay with us? You don't have to live by yourselves. I'm sure lots of people would like seeing you guys around too.

[cyclists]

[That tracks. As long as Sol's not eating fish blood tofu they do not care.]

Lune is...[How to describe Lune.] Lune has been really nice to me and helped me a lot since we've met. There's a lot of stuff I still don't get about what's happening, but he's really patient in teaching me and letting me help him. [They shake their head though.] We can't interfere which means we can't stick around like that. We can answer when you send us messages, but I don't know if that many people would be happy to have us nearby until we had more answers anyway.

[compendiem]

[ He will offer the blood tofu before the end of the night, somehow.

Minato listens, but mostly he just looks confused. Not too much different from his usual expression. ]

Is that how it is...? I don't hang out with people 'cause I want answers, or I need something from them. I just want to hang out. I'm sure there's others like that too.

[cyclists]

[Minato can't see it, but Sol relaxes upon hearing that. Maybe they're still a little uneasy after Sunday, it's fine. Also gross, no blood tofu!!!]

Maybe. I don't mind hanging out with people just to hang out. It's fun just being with other people, isn't it? But I know that's not always true for everyone.

[It's figuring out which people are which.]

[compendiem]

[ Minato nods, because they're right; he likes being with other people, just being around them like a wallflower in a party even if he doesn't speak or interact with anybody else. But there are definitely people here who don't like crowds, who seem more comfortable being by themselves and appreciate the space. He can be like that too, after all. ]

Yeah. It's not something to force people into. You can think of it as an open invitation from me, though. Just to hang out whenever. And if I want to go hang out with you... Do I sit in your chair, or...?

[cyclists]

Have you been to the river? There are little boats there, and you can send us messages that way. I don't think sitting in our chairs does anything anything.

[compendiem]

The river? Yeah, Julius and I tried to swim in it.

[ Is this the knee-high river? Yeah... yeah. But the boats aren't something he's paid much attention to, so he'll definitely take a closer look at that later.

He will also sit on the sun chair whenever he's in the hall. ]

[cyclists]

…why didn't you just go swimming at the beach? [And we're back to "Minato's weird, text it."]

[compendiem]

It was too far.

[ Also, locked behind the set of gates they couldn't open yet, but mostly because it's too far. ]

[cyclists]

Don't be lazy. [It sounds like they might be smirking?]

[compendiem]

[ ...haha. The chiding just makes Minato smile, because this is what he's used to, his team and his friends always trying to get him to be better, encouraging in their own way. ]

I'll make an effort to make an effort.

[ is all Minato promises ]

[cyclists]

[A shrug with both hands. "Fair enough", they seem to say.]

Okay. [...] Minato? Do you know how to cook?

[compendiem]

...Yes?

[ He answers with a question, because, yes he can cook. No, he cannot cook well. He's good at improvising, though. ]

Do you want to request something?

[cyclists]

[A shake of the head.] No, I was just curious.

[Minato said dinner and Sol wants to make sure they aren't going to die from food poisoning.]

[compendiem]

[ Food poisoning is debilitating but not always deadly. They'll be fine. ]

Do you know how to cook? Or want to learn?

[cyclists]

I've never had to, no. [So there's that.] Is it hard to learn?
