On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

[Once he is satisfied that Ookurikara isn't going to just run off, Swift Wind prances alongside him until they take their place on the dance floor. Then he sinks down into a low, horsey kind of bow.]

[ he has genuinely no idea what is happening right now. but... okay. he'll bow to the horse. ]

...Yeah.

[ how does horses dance? he's intrigued. ]

[this horse dances by prancing around him in a circle and occasionally tossing his mane or flicking his tail to the beat of the music

occasionally he even rears back on his hind legs and kicks at the air to the rhythm

[ this is one of the best things to ever happen to this sword.

since it's kind of hard to partner dance with a horse though, ookurikara will settle for beginning a suzume odori... he doesn't have any fans on him, so he can't do it properly, but he'll do his best to imitate the movements with his hands. ]

swift wind certainly isn't going to. in fact, he looks proud of this dancing.]

[ this dance was invented specifically for his master, so ookurikara is actually pretty decent at it, and he's... happy? to perform it? especially with a horse, for some reason??

he might even have the smallest smile on his face??

he's actually kind of having a good time... weird ]

the next time swift wind rears back on his hind legs, he tries to mimic the hand motions with his front legs. which, uh, is kind of clumsy and unfortunate looking, but hey, he's doing his best. he's a horse.]

ookurikara slows his movements after a minute. ]

It's like this...

[ he'll try to demonstrate again, but like... horse-like. whatever that means. ]

[the horse is absolutely trying to do suzume odori with him.

swift wind watches the demonstration, then nods, rears back, and attempts the motion again. it's ... a little better this time!]

[ he nods excitedly. this is great! ]

Yeah, just like that.

[the horse repeats the motion. nice!!]

Great! What's this dance called?

Suzume odori.

[ he'll just go into a spin then, smoothly ]

It's a festival dance, where I'm from.

[hashtaghelping]

[swift wind can't spin on his hind legs; instead, he gets back on all fours and prances around in a circle. close enough.]

It's pretty fun!

[ i can't believe he is this happy about teaching a horse his master's dance ]

Yeah.

[ he offers swift wind another smile ]

You're good at it.

[ honestly kara is convinced that masamune would love it ]

[ of course it's the horse that gets his first thank you of the game ]

You're welcome! Man, I'm parched after all that dancing. You wanna get a drink?

[ drinks with a HORSE? he nods! ]

What drinks do you like? Water?

[ he's trying to imagine a horse drinking sake and it's. not working. ]

Yeah! Nothing better than good, clean water.

[the horse seems amused by that for some reason]

[ thank god he doesn't have to chaperone a drunk horse ]

Then we'll get water.

[ pause ]

...And apples?

[hashtaghelping]

Really?!

[he looks SO EXCITED by this]

[unfriendliest]

As many as you can eat.

[hashtaghelping]

You're an angel.

[ookurikara has won swift wind's loyalty for a lifetime]

I know where to find them in the kitchen.
