On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

Any explanation for what just happened?

It would appear as though our tasks have even delivered to us.

[lune speaks calmly, as if reflecting on some new information]

Corruption has found a way to manifest in this world.

It sought fit to remove one of your number.

[nonbelligerent]

That's all rather vague-sounding, if I may.

So, what now?

[cyclists]

[lune is quiet for a long moment, though there might be the sound of something muffled from their hood -

until there is only another pause, followed by a sigh]

.... tomorrow, we discover who is at fault.

[another pause, as if testing the words]

The young one and I will aid you.

[nonbelligerent]

[...]

Who is at fault?

[cyclists]

The instability, on its own, does not possess a physical body.

[there is another pause - another muffled noise from the hood

another breath]

.... mm, this will prove more complicated than anticipated.

Do you trust that I would tell you all that I know if I could?

[nonbelligerent]

[a pause.]

It's perhaps too early to give a confident yes, but I'll choose to believe that for now.

When will we receive further answers? Tomorrow?

[cyclists]

Tomorrow.

.... if I am to read the intent of all that has passed correctly, the answers are meant to be discovered by each of you here.

The young one and I can only - guide and oversee.

[ . . . ]

Just as we had agreed to.

[nonbelligerent]

That's going to be increasingly difficult if our numbers dwindle. How often should we expect this to happen?

[cyclists]

What I would like to say is no more than once.

[this is enough - far more than enough, as far as lune is concerned]

.... in practicality, likely until the instability is faced, or until it wins over everyone.

[nonbelligerent]

That's unfortunate.

I don't suppose you have any further elaboration on how we deal with the instability.

[cyclists]

At the moment it is only conjecture.... however if the instability has manifested in a physical form, then that ought to give you all something tangible to oppose.

Furthermore...

[there is another pause - followed by a sigh at the end]

There might be more in a place that currently only the young one and I might access.

We will depart to determine this once each of you have your questions answered.

[nonbelligerent]
