week two: mingle
Week Two
26 in Competition
26 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.
"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. The land might appear a bit familiar to some however... I only advise you watch your step."
When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.
"The corruption is still out there, and we're going to do all that we can to find a way to contain it. But until then... stick close to others this week. Do your best to protect yourselves and look after each other. Okay?"
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
The only oddity is that throughout the week, in a noise that extends past the portal but seems to resound even through the village, there will be the occasional, resounding call of a war horn.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find ever-growing feelings of anxiety and nervousness dwelling within them the longer they are separated from one another. They will feel compelled to be very close to their partners at all times, and will be on edge if separated for more than an hour by the end of the week. Welcome to surprise codependence at its finest.

Welcome to your week two mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be hosting a mini-event on Tuesday, so please be on the lookout for that.
In addition, ensure that all of your week one private conversations were reported on the page, and your week two private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

npc.
amidst the chaos, there appears to be one man wearing one of the ninja cloaks over his own clothes, irritation evident on his face even as he barks out instructions—]
If you can fight, get your asses into gear! Oda’s forces shouldn’t be this strong…. Are they be using magic in order to fortify their strength? Tch, get me those scrolls! I want to know what’s in them!!
You can keep them after for all I care – just keep those bastards from getting to the village!
[it would appear that you’ve found your point of contact for this corruption battle – he’s around to answer questions, give directions, and suggest strategies if you need them. or you might be able to just shoot the shit.]

Who are you?

Next less pointless question if you're insisting.
no subject
bye he has to go chase after kara now]

okay okay actual thing
scrolls?
[ does baren feel up to reading ]
no subject
[WHY ARE YOU MAKING HIM READ but he'll lean in and scowl]
Yeah - there's a peak over there if you need the vantage point, but some of their commanders have scrolls. They look out of place, stupid, and evil, so that's not a bad place to start.
no subject
stupid isn't so out of place here, but he's not going to point it out.
he'll give a wave for thanks before going to the vantage point to see what the hell they are getting involved in. ]
no subject
it's a mess out there]
no subject
[ give her errands... very dangerous errands, but errands none the less... ]
no subject
There's medical supplies in the village but they're not gonna be a lot of use there if there's someone dying in the dirt. So grab 'em and get them to someone who can bring them out.
no subject
I can do that! Wish me luck, okay?
no subject
[baren you rude fuck]
Just don't die.

but you're spared from like personal questions bc he's not the time wasting type. he's going to check out the chaos around here, not sit around.]
How many do you intend to leave to guard it-- or is your defense more of a strong offense?
no subject
anyway]
Not everyone has to go - there's enough traps on the field that even if we're outnumbered, we should be able to wipe out a lot of their people since they'll be dumb enough to charge ahead. The only thing to actually be worried about is firearms, but the Kunitomo have been scattered in the chaos.

Swift Wind is here, awaiting orders!
no subject
there is a war happening but baren is losing his shit at his horse]
What—What the actual fuck?
[this is thE BEST THING HE'S EVER SEEN]
no subject
[looks him directly in the eye]
Swift Wind is here. Awaiting orders.
no subject
[why is the horse a ninja]
Think you can give some slowpokes a ride to the front? They'd need your strength and speed.

... Nobunaga?
[do you remember enough japanese history for this, minato]
The Devil King of the Sixth Heaven?
no subject
Devil King... [ That pretty much tells him what he needs to know, but at the same time, nicknames depend on the side the person's on, in the end. ] what did you do to him?

That is what Four is doing. Frowning deeply. ]
Who are the condemned?
[ Or should she ask what? ]
no subject
The ones at the edges of the village - it seems like something's gotten ahold of them. Normally they're just bitter and resentful of the people who aren't too sick to fight, but it seems like they're actually rebelling.
no subject
You don't have it easy. How worried are you about them?
