Week Two

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. The land might appear a bit familiar to some however... I only advise you watch your step."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"The corruption is still out there, and we're going to do all that we can to find a way to contain it. But until then... stick close to others this week. Do your best to protect yourselves and look after each other. Okay?"

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

The only oddity is that throughout the week, in a noise that extends past the portal but seems to resound even through the village, there will be the occasional, resounding call of a war horn.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find ever-growing feelings of anxiety and nervousness dwelling within them the longer they are separated from one another. They will feel compelled to be very close to their partners at all times, and will be on edge if separated for more than an hour by the end of the week. Welcome to surprise codependence at its finest.

[On the other hand, if you suddenly find yourself overwhelmed... well, Swift Wind is kind of wheezing a little, but he appears out of nowhere, rears back on his hind legs, and tramples all over the back of an enemy in front of you. Yikes.]

[This is so. Us. But Kaoru's appraising everything in front of them, already in his own black clothing and trying to eyeball measurements for a horse.]

We could probably improvise and adjust what's available. Even if you wouldn't be entirely covered I think I can manage if you're patient enough. Though I will require some compensation.

Given your name is Swift Wind I can only assume you're much faster than I am. I'll need a lift to some of the front lines for deliveries. Do we have a deal?

Perfect, hold still. [He's actually fairly amused and he immediately gets to work, a human flurry of limbs and fabric as he shapes and cuts and pins together an outfit worthy of a horse.

Swift Wind will soon be a ninja. Congrats.]

You do look very stealthy now. If I didn't know better, I'd think you were totally invisible. [A broad grin.] Plus, now we match which makes this even easier.

You're good without a saddle? It kind of kills the whole ensemble. [Also bold of Kaoru to assume riding bareback will end well for him.] You've run into battles before, haven't you? I'll let you lead and I'll carry supplies since I'm the one with thumbs.

Saddles are tools of the oppressors. I carry most people without them now that I've gained sentience!

Fighting the man one ride at a time. I can respect that. [Give him a second to haul himself up onto this horse then with a few med kits strapped to himself.] I'm ready when you are!

[ Minato... should probably be retreating. That would be the smart thing to do, half his face covered with blood and him dragging his foot, but he sees Swift Wind and flags him down. ]

Swift Wind! Can you fly?

[ He points, not back towards base, but out further towards the enemy lines. He still wants to fight. ]

[minato what the fuck.

swift wind looks at the battlefield, then looks at his foot, then looks at the blood on his face.





he nods.]

I'll have to keep low to the ground so we don't scare them, but we can ride into battle!

[ He doesn't know what the fuck, but he appreciates Swift Wind a lot for just going with it. ]

Why- wouldn't it be easier if you flew up high? I'd rather scare them than fight them.

Don't wanna stand out too much. Sol and Lune are covering our tracks, but I think I might've pushed it a little by, you know, talking.

..........Are Sol and Lune doing something?

[ Can Card not read or is Minato just stupid? both. He has no idea what Swift Wind is talking about. ]

That scroll! It said there was a magic shield to prevent us from being recognized as anomalies in time or whatever.

The way most of you acted the first week, a flying, talking horse would definitely be an anomaly.

[ Minato didn't even think about them being transported to a different time, because that's just ridiculous. A flying talking horse makes more sense than that. ]

Think we can go above the shield and come back down anyways? if we're up high enough, maybe they'll just ignore us...

If we want them to ignore us, I can turn around and high-tail it back to the village!
