Week Two

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. The land might appear a bit familiar to some however... I only advise you watch your step."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"The corruption is still out there, and we're going to do all that we can to find a way to contain it. But until then... stick close to others this week. Do your best to protect yourselves and look after each other. Okay?"

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

The only oddity is that throughout the week, in a noise that extends past the portal but seems to resound even through the village, there will be the occasional, resounding call of a war horn.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find ever-growing feelings of anxiety and nervousness dwelling within them the longer they are separated from one another. They will feel compelled to be very close to their partners at all times, and will be on edge if separated for more than an hour by the end of the week. Welcome to surprise codependence at its finest.

If it's all the same to you, I sort of prefer grown things.

[ maybe because it's easier to kill a monster like an axe beak and cook bits of it over a fire than it is to find nice veggies and fruit out in the barrens. ]

[ Fish meant to be decorative and somebody's pets are probably well fed? Kaoru's been feeding them, as far as Minato knows, and perhaps others too. Those koi should be nice and plump. ]

Grown as in... adult fish? Or should I plant something from a seed? Bean sprouts might grow quickly... I only have until Monday, though.

I think the fields probably would already have anything you need if you look. You don't need to bother yourself about growing anything now.

Some sort of dish that involves lots of fresh vegetables, maybe. Or be creative. Like I said, I'm not all that picky. [ ... ] Except I won't touch eggplant.

Mm. Akane requested vegetables too, so I'll definitely have that. What's wrong with eggplant? Because they're squeaky?

[ Mauyn I'm crying, I hated eggplant for the first 20 years of my life bc I thought they were squeaky but it turns out my mom just didn't know how to cook eggplant correctly and neither does Minato, I hope that solves the squeaky eggplant mystery ]

Tomatoes... That's good to know. I think I can combine that with the pear sauce for the fish somehow.

[ Minato just hums under his breath at the comment, knowing it to be true but not expressing it. ]

Not so much a thrill seeker as... if something new is happening, I won't run away from it.

[ It's a comment that makes him smile, amused, because anybody would lean towards the latter. ]

It doesn't matter, right? What keeps you from being the same?

[ Trying new things... Julius had laid down in the river with him, after all. Minato knows he's got it in him. ]

Knowledge of whether or not my decisions are weighed and measured, versus having to guess at it for you.

[ otherwise, from the outside looking in, possibly not much. julius has a somewhat squishy, indulging soul in the end, but no one tell him that. ]

I'm not. Mostly, it's just standing... talking. Cooking. Fishing. Low exertion activities.
