week three: mingle
Week Three
24 in Competition
24 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.
"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I wonder if you'll find the skyline familiar? Do try to be kind to those you find on the other side."
When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.
"You guys did great minimizing the damage and working together...so keep it up."
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to experience the emotions of one another. The clarity of these emotions enhances with proximity, and they will be able to feel the emotions of their partner's intermingling with their own.

Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be having another CYOA this week! Sign ups are here and will close on Tuesday at 8 AM PST.
In addition, ensure that all of your week two private conversations were reported on the page, and your week three private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

[Bc that's what allergies are]

It's real important to me that you know that's not what allergies do.

[ what the FUCK is minato on about axel's gonna lose it ]
Look, you can die from allergies if they're real severe, but you don't explode. Got it memorized?

[ anyway, i guess he's playing teacher again ]
Allergies are just your immune system reacting wrong to normal stuff. You get stuff like rashes, or you sneeze, or your eyes water, or you swell up in places... The only time you can die is if your allergies affect your throat and that swells up, so you can't breathe.
[ is this accurate. probably. ]
no subject
[Swelling and exploding]
How do you feel, Lea? Can you breathe okay?
no subject
You don't explode. You ever get stung by a bee? That's the same kinda swelling.
[ anyway. since he is now living this lie. ]
I didn't eat the soup, so I'm fine.

Tell me where in that explanation I lost you.

Okay. Let's try going step by step. So you know how when you're sick, the sneezing, fever and stuff is your body fighting off the virus?
no subject
Yeah. I understand sickness. I feel like that all the time.
no subject
anyway
............. ]
Okay, we'll address that one later. [ MINATO? ] Anywho, allergies are your body trying to do the same thing, but for stuff you eat or come in contact with. It's sorta like it misinterprets what you're in contact with and goes haywire. Still with me?
[ again, please don't @ me on the science behind this ]
no subject
Everything was washed. With kitchen water, not sea water. There shouldn't be viruses.
no subject
No, there's no actual viruses. Your body just... misunderstands what's happening and overcompensates the wrong way, so it reacts like it encountered something dangerous, even if it's just a strawberry or something.
no subject
And your body attacks it and since your body's the battlefield, it gets damaged in the process.
no subject
[ thank fuck. progress. ]
That's what causes allergic reactions. So it can't make you explode.
[ he really needs minato to understand allergies don't make you explode and die. ]
