Week Four

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."

When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.

"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.



Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.

[ how many people are learning to cook from kara now? it's annoying sometimes but whatever, this is his life now, so if you want to learn to cook from someone who actually can? because apparently y'all need it? find him here.

tonight's dinner: chazuke. because we can all use a little comfort food sometimes, right?

also catch him at the right time and you'll find him making zunda mochi, or maybe some manju. ]

ii. castle grounds
[ after finding a spacious patch of grass on the grounds, and making sure everyone is a safe distance away, kara draws his sword to begin his usual practice drills. the difference this time is that before he starts, flames flicker to life all across the blade, and only then does he move. the goal is to see how long he go before he loses his hold on the magic.

he almost makes it to the final movement before they finally fade, leaving his sword plain steel. he'll continue practice from here without magic, only letting fire touch his blade for a quick strike here or there.

after a while, if he spots anyone watching, he'll eye them for a moment before asking, ]

[ someone's making heart eyes at the chocolate frogs... until one leaps at his face. ]

What?!

[ it jumps away again before he can catch it, but kara certainly tries. he just wanted to see what they had, not chase a frog that shouldn't be able to move?! ]

[ Uh. Minato isn't in the best state to go chasing after candy animals, but he does have a set of knives? He throws on at the frog and it slices off its head. The the rest of the frog keeps hopping away. ]

[ It's a fake frog? Minato has no idea how it's still moving, but he has four more knives.

[ Yeah, it is. Minato pauses, puts his knives away and trots over to retrieve his other two knives. There are chunks of chocolate everywhere, oozing out from the frog's open wounds.

He picks up the head and sticks it in his mouth. ]

[ thanks for nothing?! he doesn't notice namine, though, because he's focused on making one more attempt at catching the frog. when it hops underneath a shelf, he gives up, staring after it with a frown.

how the fuck does something made of chocolate move?? ]

[ he's gonna turn around and suddenly find akane there i guess? that's fine. ]

Definitely, as long as you don't mind sparring with someone who can't move an arm very well.

[Looks like this injury is taking a while to heal, she still has her arm in a sling. She blames the lack of medicine]

An injured hunter would have to rest until their injury is healed. In this place, though, I can't let myself be caught off-guard. I need to stay sharp in order to stay alive.

[That also may be a reason why it's not healing well, because she insists on not letting that arm stay still]

[ under different circumstances, he wouldn't be interested in fighting an injured opponent when he's fully healthy. but kara has learned that healing is... difficult, in this place, so he'll accept it for now, giving grim eyes a curt nod and settling into a defensive position.

[Once Grim Eyes has her spear ready she starts. Grim Eyes is definitely the type to go on the offensive. Still, a warrior with a sword is someone to watch out for. She has to keep her distance.

So her move is to try to throw him to the floor. Grim Eyes swings the handle of the spear towards Kara's legs, intending to make him trip. It'd be much easier if she had both hands, so it's going slower than she'd like it to go]

[Apparently he got here at the right time with a haul of tiny fish that he's going to get through in less than a week. Kara is out here making mochi and Val can recognize sweets so easily.]

I didn't know your culinary expertise extended to desserts.

It's not my specialty.

[ usually mitsutada would make it, if anyone bothered. he's getting better at it, though? and zunda mochi was never that difficult for him. ]

[He's going to take one of the fish and bite directly into it's side, draining it of all its blood.]

Yeah. Zunda mochi is the only one I make very often.
