week four: mingle

Week Four
22 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."

When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.

"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.

Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.

In addition, ensure that all of your week three private conversations were reported on the page, and your week four private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

[Milla is here!

Wrapped in a thin towel, torso immersed in the water and hair gathered in a large, loose bun on the top of her head, Milla is relaxing and reading a book.

"Fifty Shades Darker" at least has a pretty innocent cover, all things considered.]

[ . . . ]

Reading material, Milla?

[does

does she want to know?]
tothemaxwell: (bad news)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-02 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. The second in the trilogy.

[Which she closes, as Lili approaches.]

Hello, Lili.
coastal: (✧ pokes a squirrel)

[personal profile] coastal 2019-07-02 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Hello.

[politely]

Is it something actually worth reading?

[she could've said that less rudely]
tothemaxwell: (she's a bomb)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-02 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
I am certainly enjoying it. Whether or not it's worth reading... well, free communication could be said to be the very heart of human culture, don't you agree?
coastal: (✧ that's strange)

[personal profile] coastal 2019-07-03 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure. I've had to read a lot of what was assigned from my tutors.

[she'll agree with that]

What's the book about?
tothemaxwell: (she's an atom bomb)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-04 11:08 am (UTC)(link)
Romance, one could say—although it is a particularly difficult, mature type.

Overall, it is a tale of men and women, entangled in the throes of love!

[entangled.]

[ah.]

Why are you this way?
tothemaxwell: (i'm a fuse)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-08 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm?

What was would that be?

[ Curious and more curious. If Milla is here, who's watching Shirasu? She's not going to worry about it.

But reading is something that Four approves of, so she has to ask: ]

Do you read often?
tothemaxwell: (bad news)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-02 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
[Listen he's uhhhh (throws dart at a board) knocked out in a closet with a blindfold.]

Yes, as often as I can.

[personal profile] forefall 2019-07-02 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
[ That's fair. Four's fine with that? ]

What is the one you're reading currently about?
tothemaxwell: (she's a bomb)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-02 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
It is a fictional novel, but I suppose the summary of themes could be...

[hmm]

The nature of good and evil. The intricacies of human relationships, but mental, psychological, and physical. The power of love, or something akin to it.

[personal profile] forefall 2019-07-03 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
[ i hate this description of 50 shades ]

The power of love....? Does it persevere?
tothemaxwell: (i'm a fuse)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-03 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
It has its ups and downs, this love. In any case, I am only on the second book. I will tell you how it goes when I finish, however.
forefall: (that you are a semblance)

[personal profile] forefall 2019-07-03 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
... How many books are in this series? More than two seems to be...

[ Excessive? ]
tothemaxwell: (she's a bomb)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-03 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Three in total, I believe—it's a trilogy. But there are several supplemental volumes as well, I believe.

Must be a good book if you're bringing it here.

[Hiii Milla, what do you have there?]
tothemaxwell: (she's an atom bomb)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-02 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
[She flashes the cover, and smiles.]

It is the second of a series of three. I am simply taking a moment here in the hotspring.

Are you enjoying yourself, Grim Eyes?
liversandhyenas: 29 (Default)

[personal profile] liversandhyenas 2019-07-02 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. I didn't expect to be invited, so I'm glad I was.

[Because, you know, difference in species. Despite the recent weeks she's not used to humans being welcoming]
tothemaxwell: (she's a bomb)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-03 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. Are we not all friends here, Grim Eyes?
liversandhyenas: 9 (9)

[personal profile] liversandhyenas 2019-07-03 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
I guess we are. Somehow. It's more trust than expected when people are dying.

[Not that she'll complain about it]
tothemaxwell: (bad news)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-03 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
It is far preferable to no trust at all, wouldn't you say?

After all, the respect and trust we share is what enables us to continue to save people in the weeks that have passed.

[personal profile] liversandhyenas 2019-07-03 01:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[Save them, huh]

Sure didn't help Swift Wind much.

[Because he ended being killed anyway. Swift Wind's death seems to have hit Grim Eyes a bit hard]
tothemaxwell: (i'm a fuse)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-04 11:00 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Yes.

In which case, we can only strive to understand, and move forward. Discover his killer, and bring them to a sort of justice. What's done, is, unfortunately, done—unless we find a way to raise the dead.
