As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."

When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.

"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.



Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.

In addition, ensure that all of your week three private conversations were reported on the page, and your week four private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

MAGICAL CREATURES

[ LOOK I KNOW WHAT I'M ABOUT

Anyone who ventures into the forest found through the gateway will find Four exploring. No stone should be left unturned, and she is here to find out what's in here. If they say the corruption is evened out and the universe seems stable, the forest probably isn't that dangerous, right? Or perhaps Four is just more than relieved to be free of induced fear, and that's why she's being more daring than not.

If you want less danger:

Maybe Four misses a magical horse we all know and love, and that's why she gravitates towards unicorns and thestrals the most. Catch her watching either from a good distance away. If she notices you, she'll ask: ]

... Do you think they'll run away if I approach them?

[ Her voice is incredibly hushed. ]

[ If you want more danger, just because it's break week doesn't mean you can't be running for your life from a giant spider. Yeah.

It's going to be a theme for Four because there's only so many ways for her to be stupid about danger. ]

[Hm. She pauses as she sees Four, then tenses as she that she's running... And then freezes for a second when she sees the spider before she starts running as well, swearing under her breath.]

We really need to stop meeting like this! How is this even more terrifying than an angry moose?!

[forefall]

I was hoping this wouldn't ever happen to me again!

[ Running for her life isn't and will never be on her bucket list. ]

Spiders aren't supposed to be that size! I didn't do anything! I swear!

[ She tries to keep the fear from creeping into her voice. ]

I can ask other animals to try and distract it, but I don't know if that's a good idea.

[ They'd probably run away once they get within sight of the spider. ]

Maybe you could give it a try just in case!

[forefall]

... Okay!

[ It's a bit more difficult to concentrate and run for your life at the same time. She could try to get the spider to stop with her powers, too, but what if she can't?

After a bit, half a dozen birds dart in to get the spider's attention. It does distract for a bit, but acromantula have a taste for human flesh. ]

[foodbin]

[While the birds are distracting it, a thin sheet of ice appears between the spider and them; rather than crash through it, it pauses right before, confused. As they keep going:]

You got anything else up your sleeve?

[forefall]

... Do you think unicorns run faster than spiders? Or those skeleton horses?

[ She's going to learn they're called thestrals someday.

It's not so much an idea up her sleeve, so much as an idea she sees ahead of them. ]

[As much as Val avoids the unicorns, the thestrals look a lot more like home. So he'll stand there, watching the skeletal horse for a moment before responding.]

I doubt they'll leave. Are you unable to influence them?

[forefall]

[ why doesn't val like unicorns.... ]

I haven't tried yet. I didn't want to...

[ Have another chase scene. ]

[He's killed multiple somebodies during his stint as a Tyrant. Walking up to one doesn't seem like a great idea.]

... Get chased again?

[ Four scrunches her face up in annoyance. ]

You didn't have to say it.

It does no good to ignore the mistakes of the past.

I'm sure you've practiced your power over the weeks. They must be stronger now.

[forefall]

I'm not ignoring them. I'm electing to move past them.

[ There's a difference? ]

I can manage my powers fine.

[ It'll take a moment, but a thestral will come up to Val. ]

[ ah... he's staring at the unicorns and?? skeleton horses???? what is this??? (it's a thestral, you fOOL) as well for a second

Well... With wild animals like that, you gotta give 'em food first, doncha?

[ fun fact this is the same technique he uses to take in human strays. just feed them and they're yours. this is fine ]

[ Four gives him an unsure look. ]

I don't know if all of them will take kindly to that, but I suppose... we can try. Do you have anything on you?

[ Feed a baby unicorn, Lea. ]

[leaberator]

Uhhh...

[ he looks through his pockets and takes out an apple? rip swift wind :( ]

I dunno if just chucking an apple is any better, but?

[ SWIFT WIND ): ]

Gently roll it towards them, and we can see.

[ thestrals are carnivores but WHAT DO UNICORNS EAT

[ i rolled a dice to decide they do, in fact, eat apples, whatever hp lore says or doesn't say about it, so there axel goes, gently rolling an apple towards them. he watches as a unicorn daintily walks towards it, sniffing... ... ]

I guess all horses are the same. [ huh. ] I dunno about the skeletal horse thingies, but unicorns like pure maidens, right? You might be fine to approach it.

yeah that is a thing that came out of his mouth ]

[ Four is going to accept that coming out of his mouth because yeah, she'd agree that she's a pure maiden, and that wounds me. ]

Hm? We shouldn't say they're all the same, but I'll give it a try. If they run away, you'll have to accept responsibility.

[ Her approach is slow and careful, no quick or sudden movements. The unicorn even lets her pet it. ]

... You should try, too.

[Still leery of horses and convincing himself the phantom pain in his fixed leg is just his imagination, Kaoru's coming up behind Four to watch the creatures as well.]

It depends how you approach them, doesn't it? Wouldn't you run away if someone came at you without warning?

[forefall]

[ Don't be a baby, Kaoru.

She looks thoughtful. ]

In some cases, running wasn't an option, but you have a point. Do you want to wait here while I approach, or will you come with?

Hm...I'll come with. I've never seen anything like them before, and they probably won't cause damage. At least they aren't as chatty. [He's still letting her lead though.] At least we have options this week.

[forefall]

[ Four doesn't know what Kaoru means by that, but she approaches the unicorns slowly. Unicorn foals are much more equal opportunity about trust, so it's the young gold ones that trot up to them first. ]

They're beautiful.

[twinsightful]

As other horses, I mean. [He literally means Swift Wind, but it's fine. He's following behind, watching the unicorn foals approach. He doesn't reach out to touch or anything, but he's eyeing these creatures curiously.]

But they are beautiful...you've seen all sorts of other monsters before. Have you seen anything like this where you're from?

[forefall]

[ Don't remind her of Swift Wind. ):

She keeps her attention on the unicorns. How do they turn from gold to silver, she wonders. ]

There are centaurs. Sometimes, they're... on fire. But they're not the most pleasant to look at. Most of the monsters that exist at home aren't beautiful like a unicorn.
