Week Four

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."

When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.

"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.



Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.

[ he's seated somewhere! though he seems to be pretty deeply focused on whatever it is he's fiddling with on the table in front of him- if you swing around to the other side or sneak up to look over his shoulder (try not to, he has a pretty bad startle reflex), it turns out that what's holding his attention is a pair of silver and gold pocketwatches lying face open on the table.

it looks like he's doing some watch maintenance? though it doesn't seem he's really touching any of the more finicky pieces, on account of lacking the proper tools for it.

every so often he glances up at the position of the sun and squints, before sighing a little unhappily and... going back to whatever it is he was doing. someone tell him to live a little and see the sights, or something, they're literally surrounded by magic and things like living candy. or at least stop burning his eyes out by staring at the sun, geez. ]

somewhere around the castle........

[ but probably in a hallway a little off the beaten path, he's crouching down near the bottom of some long, heavy, ornate drape or curtain or something, staring intently into the shadows at... what?

... oh, so he's having a staring contest with a cat. hm.

anyway, join him, try to actually coax the (fairly skittish looking, but mildly curious) cat out, complain that he's taking up space in the hallway? ]

[Oh, goodie, it's Julius in the middle of the hallway, staring intently at the curtain. It seems that way until she approaches and finds what he's staring at.

Well then! Looks like he's focused on staring at that cat really hard. A staring contest, most likely.

The cat will win, she thinks, because she's such a pal]

[ It is not, thank you, is what she gets back in return, even though Julius doesn't break eye contact with the cat because it's funnier this way.

Please admit defeat, kitty. Then preferably come out so that you may receive scritches.... maybe............ who knows....... ]

[Apparently Grim Eyes doesn't notice the thoughts shenanigans that's going on. She just supposed she had accidentally said that aloud, approaching and taking a good look at the cat]

I'm rather sure eye contact means you're challenging its status as the one in charge here.

Then you better win. If you end being under a skittish cat in the pecking order I doubt you can ever make up for it.

eventually the cat ducks further back into the curtain and starts grooming itself as Julius blinks a little, because dry eyes you know. ]

[ listen, sometimes you might kind of sort of like cats, but that doesn't mean you know what you're supposed to do with them ]

Sure, but it's also never gonna get any closer if all you do is stare at it from a corner.

[Julius how are you so...this. Kaoru doesn't approach from the side or from behind his shoulder but rather as close to the front of the table as he can get. He's squinting down at the watches though.]

What're you trying to do?

[ how is he so what, kaoru. he doesn't look up from his servicing, but it's clear enough that he seems used to this sort of thing? ]

Making sure they still run all right. They need winding every so often, and the parts are as finicky as with any normal watch.

... That, and trying to get a rough estimate of the time so I actually know what to set them to.

I see. [He doesn't because that seems like a lot of work, but that has to do more with the fact he has a cell phone to tell the time most of the time. But...]

Decent enough, I think. Not ideal, but they've been through worse conditions than this, though admittedly not for quite as long, and it isn't as if I can just bother one of the people here with a portable GHS every time I need to check the time.

...probably not, but uh, what's a GHS, exactly? [Julius has a point and he can admire someone who doesn't want to bother people for everything but it doesn't help if he has no idea what these words mean.

Technological device that makes calls and has some other basic customizable functions. They're actually not portable yet where I come from, but I can recognize that they seem to work on the same general premise...?

[...] A cell phone. [He sounds a little incredulous, but he's going to reach into his pocket and pull out his own orange flip phone.] Like one of these things? What does GHS stand for then?

That's it, yes. And GHS is short for Globally Harmonized Spyrix- or System, depending who you're talking to or how pedantic they want to be.

[ yes i just took the realworld acronym that ghs represents and said it wasn't a hazmat classification system anymore but a home phone + associated network. it was that or have an owl hoot really loudly as he said the acronym because i never actually figured out a backronym and xillia 2 isn't! helpful! ]

Obviously that's a mouthful though, so. GHS.
