week four: mingle
Week Four
22 in Competition
22 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.
"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."
When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.
"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.

Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.
In addition, ensure that all of your week three private conversations were reported on the page, and your week four private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

shess gives minato a smile before he goes back to looking for ingredients.]

He takes the whisk and just sort of mashes it into the dough, he's never used a whisk before? it feels like the thing to do. He glances up at Shess every once in a while, because Shess is his translator and he's kind of afraid to look at Kara. Is he doing this right. ]
no subject
That's not how you use it.
[ maybe he should just kick minato out before he regrets this. ]
no subject
immediately goes over to minato to show him how to use a whisk. damage control!]
no subject
...Is this sugar? Shess got out both sugar and salt, and bread requires both, so it doesn't really matter. ]

They have a recipe! Sort of. It's in Shess' head and ingredients are a good start and they can wing it? It'll be fine. ]
no subject
...Did you at least make the curry first.
[ he expects this is a no, too. ]

You're supposed to do the curry first and let it thicken overnight.
no subject
[he turns back to minato.]
Best to follow the expert's advice.

He moves around to the other side of the counter and sort of waves Kara over to the bowl of dough so he can do his thing, show them how it's done, please try to salvage the dough because there was a lot of flour thrown in there ]
no subject
What exactly did you put in here?
[ how can he fix this if he doesn't know what he's working with? ]
no subject
[based off what he saw minato throw in there? shess hasn't found the yeast yet.]
no subject
But yeah, that's it. Kara, what's yeast? ]
no subject
That's your first mistake. Dry ingredients first. Then wet ingredients.
no subject
We just need to find yeast, right?
no subject
no subject
and go dump the contents in the trash ]
We're starting over. The yeast is in that cabinet.
[ he points at one and goes to rinse out the bowl so they can try this again. ]

no subject
But okay, they're starting over. Shess is getting yeast, Kara is presumably getting water, so Minato goes ahead and grabs another clean, dry bowl and tasks himself with filling it with ??? cups of flour. ]
no subject
anyway he's going to pretend minato's not here i guess because you really don't need that much flour?? it's like. two and a half at most. so once the first bowl is dried he starts measuring the dry ingredients into it - flour, a dash of salt, some sugar... and whisk it all together.
the yeast will come later! minato got a little excited apparently. ]
