week four: mingle
Week Four
22 in Competition
22 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.
"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."
When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.
"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.

Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.
In addition, ensure that all of your week three private conversations were reported on the page, and your week four private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

All right?

Ahem.
[She clears her throat, and picks up the notebook.]
"Shess turned to his large group of friends and followers, who looked up at him with hopeful, big eyes. The bright sunlight reflected off Cinnabar's beautiful red crystal shiningly as they cheered Shess on quietly and mentally. Shess struck a cool and popular pose, then said 'don't worry everybody we will definitely figure out the murder today!'
Everyone cheered with adoration. Lune and Sol smiled a lot because they also were also fans of Shess."
[There's a pause, and she looks up expectantly.]

there's. there's a lot he could say, but he'll start off with:]
I don't think anyone's my fan, Milla.
[where did that even come from??]

However, even I have to admit that your sudden transformation into a towering demon with a heart of gold later in the story may be what Shirasu consistently refers to as "unrealistic". Still, I am fond of the twist.

And I neither am a towering dream nor have a heart of gold, so yes, I would call that unrealistic.

I have several other Shess exploits written—or I could even write you something impromptu! Hmm, that would be an excellent challenge.

I was thinking a picnic with yourself, Lune, and Sol. You seem as though you'd get along.

The image suits you quite well. Oh! I suppose I could write myself into it, as well. Wouldn't that be a pleasant story?

Is the happening in and of itself not a plot, in a way?
[She has begun writing again
it is the teaparty.]

[at least this fanfic is better than [redacted].]

Unusually, I have written myself into this short excerpt, as well, as I treasure my time with Sol, Lune, and yourself. I am sure you are waiting to hear it, so I won't delay any longer. Ahem!
"Lune, Sol, Shess, and Milla were all enjoying some tea (which ["I" is scratched out, and replaced] Milla made). The ingredients to the fresh tea are dried pieces of fruit, herbs, and a light green tea, giving it a refreshing taste and floral scent.
Lune drinks some tea and says 'this is the best. I love drinking tea with my good friends Shess and Milla, neither of who are humans. But we like humans together and we are working hard and doing our best, aren't we?'
Sol drank some tea and reminisced about family, and smiles also. Everyone smiled together, because they were friends, and gave each other hugs."

Well, that's very sweet.

Doesn't it refresh you? I nearly feel as though I am transported, and it is only my amateur writing!
Reading truly is the best.

I'm glad you're enjoying yourself.

Have you ever tried writing, Shess?

Ha ha ha. Of course, I refer to fictionally.
Do you have hobbies you enjoy?

While you are here, Shess, I encourage you to participate in one or two. A new experience, no matter how trivial, is never a waste, after all. I would be more than happy to join you in it.
