As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."

When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.

"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.



Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.

[ Four didn't think she'd have to explain that. She's silent for a moment, as she tries to figure out the best words for this.

She thinks about some of their past conversations. ]

You said you're happy when you're with people, but you have to want to live with them, too. You have to want to live for them.

[ Her voice is soft when she asks her next question: ]

Is that something you can do?

[compendiem]

[ He's silent, biting at his bottom lip in the darkness of his arms, because wanting to live for people and wanting to live for people are two incredibly different things. He wants to do what he can for people, he wants to make their lives easier and a little happier and he doesn't mind at all being used to make that happen, even just a little bit. But he doesn't want to live for them, doesn't want their concerns, doesn't want their happiness or lives tied into the state of his being, doesn't want to matter so much that anybody will be hurt if something happens to him. That's not something he can do. He doesn't want that. ]

...No. I don't know. I don't think so. I just...

[ He wrings his hands on the desk, wondering how to say this. ]

I just want to exist around people. But not have anything to do with them.

[forefall]

[ For once, Four is glad that Minato chooses not to look at her during their conversation. She's not sure if she wants to see what kind of expression he's making, if he's making any kind of expression, and she doesn't want him to see the kind of face she's making either.

She lets his answer hang in the space between them for a while—like how he wants to be treated. It exists, but it isn't acknowledged. ]

... You really are selfish. You can't make anyone happy or anyone's life better that way. You need to make up your mind.

[ She watches his hands. ]

Aren't you with Akane?

[compendiem]

[ Existing but not being acknowledged is lonely and anxious but it's safe, Four's words breaking the silence and twisting in his gut because why can't he be both? Why can't he play god and give but not take. ]

Yeah, I'm with Akane. [ His hands still, relax a little. ] I know I make her upset, being like this. But she lets me take my time... Understanding, and stuff. I think that's part of why I love her.

[forefall]

[ There's a pause, and she shifts back in her seat. ]

Is that how she's like when she's with you? How— surprising. Are you trying?

[ Or is he just taking time? ]

[compendiem]

[ He lifts his head, and looks confused. ]

With her? She's just... always been like that. ...I want to try, for her.

[forefall]

Hm? Always? [ Her tone is press x to doubt. ] Perhaps with you.

[ She shakes her head. ]

Then, try. For her and whoever else.

[compendiem]

[ Akane is the best?? Always and with everyone. ]

Whoever else... Then, I'll try for you too. Dunno anybody else who cares as much about this as you do.

[forefall]

[ don't be a dumb bitch, minato. ]

Me? Are you telling me that others haven't expressed their concern for you? [ She sounds a little surprised. ] If anyone else acted as recklessly as you did, I'd have the same kind of conversation with them.

[compendiem]

[ Impossible ]

I've gotten lectured... [ Well deserved lectures, from multiple people, of different severity, but Four is one of the only ones who at least attempt to be constructive, to encourage him instead of just throwing their hands up in the air. ]

But that's less to do with me than it does with you. You're somebody who cares. That's probably why you're like this. And I could learn a lot from you. Maybe.

[forefall]

Maybe?

[ What's the maybe for? ]

I want the best for everyone, for people to live in a productive and well-meaning fashion and not to waste it away doing anything frivolous.

[compendiem]

[ Maybe is to keep him annoyingly vague, so nothing has to be concrete. ]

...Like sleeping 14 hours a day?

[forefall]

... Do I have to ask Xion to make sure you don't waste your day away?

[ She wants to throw her hands up in the air, but she doesn't. ]

[compendiem]

I'm sleeping off a cold...

[ It usually takes him three nights to recover? So he's trying to hasten this by sleeping all those hours all at once. ]

[forefall]

You would sleep that long even if you weren't ill.

[ Don't try to trick her? ]

[compendiem]

Prophylaxis.

There's a small pause of surprise because she didn't think he'd know that word? ]

If you are ill, I will take you to a bed, but do not forget that you just told me you'd try. Sleeping on the stairs will not help you recover.

I know... I can fall asleep anywhere, though. So I didn't think it'd mattered.

[forefall]

[ She looks up at the ceiling and tries to keep her annoyance from creeping into her tone, but she is being TESTED. ]

... Please remember you said you would try. [ She repeats her words emphatically. ] Your body needs rest to recuperate, but if you put it in weird positions, it can't do that.

[ Isn't he still super injured too? ]

[compendiem]

[ He'll try harder next week. Maybe. ]

..........what is your opinion on sleeping on the floor? For like... the spine... and stuff.

He has to know that's terrible for him. No, who is she kidding? ]

It's terrible for you. Sleep on a bed. Or if Xion has the bed, get something as a cushion for the floor.

[compendiem]

[ It used to be all over the internet, health claims of all the benefits of sleeping on your back. It's like a Japanese futon? I don't know, because I've never slept in one. ]

Oh. Lots of people dropped off blankets for me. I've been burrito'd on the floor in the hall.

[ She's probably seen him, if she's made multiple trips into the hall to get to the portal. ]

[ A futon is still a futon, and Four doesn't think Minato means he's sleeping on a futon.

Realistically, Four probably doesn't know what a burrito is, but she gets the meaning of it because she has seen him. ]

That's not good for you. Do I need to write instructions for you?

[compendiem]

...Would you write instructions for me?

[ It's not asked in a "please do that for me" sort of way, but rather, a "would you really do that??? why" sort of way. ]

[ It's said in a "Because it seems like you really need them" kind of way. ]
