week four: mingle
Week Four
22 in Competition
22 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.
"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."
When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.
"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.

Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.
In addition, ensure that all of your week three private conversations were reported on the page, and your week four private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

For the record, I take no responsibility for my actions under its influence. And don't forget, you're drinking it too, so.
[ hey you two, maybe you should tell someone else about this before you both down it. no? fair enough, carry on, they'll get to boggle at whatever happens. ]
no subject
Once it's looking ready, Akane cheerfully serves some up into a vial for herself, then waits for him to do the same. Then they can trade! ]
It's just a crush. Or - do you think you're the obsessive type when it comes to love?
no subject
Who knows, maybe we accidentally boiled it for just a little too long or put in just a little too much of something, and what was supposed to be a crush ended up something distinctly different.
[ that didn't actually answer her question, but hey. he's still bottling it up because it looks right, squinting at the description in the book again, and reminding himself 'better them than someone unsuspecting' (they have hunk for that).
time to trade!! ]
no subject
After they've traded, Akane drinks the potion! Nice. This definitely won't end badly. She watches Julius expectantly and seems normal so far? ]
That's true. We might even be poisoning ourselves. [ ... she says, AFTER drinking it? Hm. Hm. ]
no subject
though he channels britt and closes his eyes when she actually agrees. ]
Don't say things like that right before one of us drinks this.
[ that said, he also drinks the potion! hm. all right, we're fine. probably. he does study her a little appraisingly as the potion settles or something, because. ]
So. Feeling particularly poisoned? Should either of us be going for the charcoal right about now?
[ they did just down a questionable substance, after all. ]
no subject
[ She leans towards him. A bit, uh. Close. Hm. ]
How about you? How do you feel? Like me any more than you did a minute ago?
no subject
[ Regardless of whether or not love potions work, they definitely don't grant more self-awareness. Rip. ]
But then again it wasn't as if I disliked you in the first place.
no subject
... She's also not leaving his personal space. And pressing. ]
You don't know?
no subject
is less touchy about his personal space than usual. Hm. ]
How would I? You said it yourself. I've never had a crush before, so it isn't as if I'd have anything to compare it with.
[ ... Are those hints of a vaguely teasing tone, oh no. ]
no subject
[ well this is going excellent ]
no subject
[ well we don't have time to unpack all that
this is stupid. they're stupid. teens are stupid. ]
... But I guess I am more willing to give them a shot, right now.
no subject
[ That doesn't sound like Akane's usual stance on these types of tropes. But, well. You know. ]
no subject
[ He hums thoughtfully. ]
But. Maybe for you, we can make it a bit of a getting to know each other thing. A little late, but better than never?
[ that's a date. you are proposing a date. please take this away from the public threads, oh my god. ]
no subject
[ Out of the goodness of her heart, Akane will allow Julius to keep some secrets. You're welcome! And she nods. ]
That sounds nice. We're all supposed to be bonding and stuff, right?
no subject
[ I hate this, because most icons of young Julius or icons that could pass as young Julius are not smiling, and the few that are are him like. smiling at a 7yo. gushy. soft. squishy. I'm literally dying here trying to figure out icons. Every time I see an expression that I might have wanted I remember that it's one of the icons I used on the other Julius' account and suffer more. ]
Supposed to be bonding, sure, just like we're supposed to be restoring balance. Wonder how successful we've been at either of those? But in any case, why don't we get out of this place now? Being cooped up here for too long with all these fumes probably isn't good for anyone.
no subject
Mm... Even if we've done a bad job so far, the best we can do is just to keep trying. Where to, then? The gardens?
[ That sounds like a nice romantic place to go for a walk. ]
no subject
[ Sure! The gardens seem like a nice place to go, what a good idea!! ]
no subject
[ Akane's number one most desired trait in a partner: do what she says. ]
no subject
[ Akane has seen to the squishy core of this tsun-kuudere, clearly. ]
no subject
Hmm... What do people usually think about you...?
no subject
If I really had to say, I suppose they'd consider me frigid and hard to approach, or distantly polite at best?
[ then there's always too serious, stuffy, fussy, what have you. ]
no subject
But I'm always happy when you talk to me.
no subject
But it's not really a preference, honestly. It's just... easier, for everyone involved that way.
no subject
... Easier? What makes you say that?
no subject
... People wouldn't miss me as much if there's no one to miss.
[ 'less people inevitably get hurt by something happening to me if i'm a dick' ]
