As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I would not grow complacent, but I also wonder if you all might enjoy the surprise."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"Maybe we can have another week like the last. It'd be nice, wouldn't it? Good luck out there."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to see odd mirages and hear voices calling for them. Even though they might not realize it, these phantoms that will be haunting them will be their partner's most important person, calling for them to come home. Partners will only be able to see each other's illusions if they make physical contact.

I was just wondering if you went to the cafe last week. With the cats. If you liked that and wanted to do it again... since I screwed up the last time.

You would go with me?

[ She's surprised that Minato is acknowledging that he screwed up. This character development... He really is trying. ]

It looked like everyone had a nice time. If we have the chance to see another place like that...

[ She nods. She would go with him. ]

[compendiem]

[ I can't remember the context for "0 or 1000% there's no in between" but it's always somehow a Four thing, that makes Minato want to try, and maybe he burns himself out by trying, but he's still going to make the effort. ]

Ha... I was going to be glad if you went with me. [ Why does she sound so surprise he's asking her out... ]

It's not really the same, but we could sneak into the kitchen to get tea, and hang out at the garden with the cat?

[ Please don't burn yourself out, Minato. That's the opposite of what people want.

She's surprised because he's not supposed to ask her out... She looks away, and she sounds a little shier. ]

... All right. I won't mind having some tea with you and the cat.

[compendiem]

[ He slept so much during burn out break week, it was great for everybody.

Anyways, Akane, don't look.

Minato smiles and nod and... waits for Four to walk beside him instead of him walking in front, because if Kara is in the kitchen he's going to have to hide behind Four. ]

[ Akane doesn't have to look, but please murder Four even if there's nothing going on here.

She glances at him curiously as she turns to go to the kitchen before the koi pond. She notices his... caution(?). ]

... Should I ask?

[compendiem]

[ If Kara were here, Four could die in the crossfire between his sword and Minato's hand.

aka he shakes his head. Please do not ask. ]

[forefall]

[ I would let that happen. Kara, please come try to cut off Minato's hand and kill Four at the same time. Thanks.

If he says no, then it must be something bad. She has to ask. ]

What did you do?

[ Somebody ping Ray ]

Um. Made a bet.

[ Sort of. Kara gave him an ultimatum and Minato went "lol whatever" ]

[ That doesn't sound like the start of something good. ]

I'm sorry? Care to repeat that again, at a volume I can hear and with more details?

[ Minato shakes his head, because no he does not want to do that. ]

[ She sighs. ]

Is it that bad?

[compendiem]

It's... a matter of opinion.

[ Minato "I don't care about anything" Arisato seems to care enough to know Fear for once in his life, so that must say something. ]

[forefall]

[ Yeah, she can see tell something is definitely up. ]

You're more hesitant than usual to admit it, so it must be... [ Bad. ] What kind of bet was this?

Something about... cooking...?

[ sort of ]

It's something I'd like to keep between me and the other party. If possible.

[ She presses her lips together. ]

Fine. I understand. [ She quickens the pace to the kitchen. ]

How good are you with making tea?

[ Has he improved since his cooking competition....... has he asked Shirasu how to make tea...... ]

[compendiem]

[ ...Good. He wanted to ask Four's opinion on Kara, but that would out him, so Minato's more than glad to focus on going to the kitchen. ]

I made that flower tea that one time, but people didn't seem to care for it. I'm good at coffee, though. I made it a lot.

[forefall]

[ Four doesn't know Kara that well at all, so she might not have actually caught on. ]

Coffee?

[ There's a blank look on her face because coffee apparently wasn't introduced to Europe until the 1500s

wait fuck tea was also introduced to Europe in the 1500s i'm handwaving her discovery of tea PLEASE DON'T @ ME ANYONE ]

Have you never had coffee? I can make a pot, and you could try it.

[ Minato's coffee is... well. Anyways, he hopes the coffee experience will be memorable, if not enjoyable. ]

[forefall]

[ She hesitates. ]

I'll try it. It's... beneficial to have new experiences.

[ It has to be better than his tea? Pray for her (don't). ]

[compendiem]

Yeah. New experiences are my favorite too.

[ It doesn't even matter if they're good or bad experiences, just something new. But he still likes his coffee, no matter how much he drinks, no matter how different it is when he makes it compared to how a professional does it in a cafe.

Four might appreciate it, though?

When they get to the kitchen and Minato starts up the coffee maker, it's just... black coffee. No milk, no cream, no sugar, nothing. It's black bean water. Healthy. Probably. ]
