INTRO LOG
Week Zero
32 in Competition
32 in Competition
The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.
A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.
Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.
Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.
It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.

Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.
Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

[Just a few blinks and she had found herself in this quiet and quaint village as if she had just walked into a dream. Fujino can sort of accept that it just happened, but she can't accept that that's all there is to it. The first thing Fujino does is to try and find an exit. She had spared the time looking at and taking in her new surroundings, but the instinct to find a way out dawns on her earlier than expected. She looks at the ornate wooden gates thoughtfully. Her left arm wraps around her opposite side as her right-hand reaches out to press against the surface. Nothing happens of course and she's murmuring to herself.]
... It won't bend. Is something wrong with me?
[Odd way to put it.]
❖ Profiling
[Fujino is eying the profiles with interest. After looking at her own (relieved there isn't anything incriminating; although maybe she's mildly troubled someone knows something about her), she starts scanning the other scrolls. She might turn to a nearby person and even dare ask.]
Is there anyone here familiar to you? I can't seem to find anyone I know.
❖ Ow; Near the Houses
[Near the residencies and in some corner there's a girl with long hair dressed in her school uniform, squatting down on her knees with her arms wrapped around herself. For the briefest second it looks like something might be wrong, but the next second she stands up and exhales softly. Nothing's wrong.]
I wonder if there's a doctor around here?
❖ Wildcard
[OOC: Hit me up on either the game Discord or
near the houses
Are you in need of one?
no subject
I don't need one right away. I just noticed that I haven't seen a clinic or something like a doctor's office here. That might be the least strange thing about our situation though.
no subject
It is odd, especially since we apparently having weapons available. If whoever brought us here expects us to use them, they should at least give us medical equipment.
no subject
[She'll try not to be too pessimistic She examines Shess although it's a little hard to tell what she's thinking.]
I may be overstepping, but were you using that device before you found yourself here?

The only other thing is that there are other people in the pictures on top of the scroll, his friends and somebody only vaguely familiar. ]

Looks back at him.
Looks back at the scroll.]
... It's just you.
[yes]
no subject
[ Yes, it's him. ]
But up there, see? [ A little more helpfully, he lifts a hand, and points up at the images on the top. At the girl yelling at him. At the boy with Minato in a chokehold. ]
Those are my friends.
[ They're such great friends. ]
no subject
It looks like you're having fun with them... Are they were in the village though?

But I get the feeling that's not gonna be too common.
no subject
So it's just a shot in the dark on that note. It might be a relief that there's no one here that I know. I wouldn't want my friends to be stuck here too.
no subject
[ they might as well be stuck in it together? still. ]
Wonder why and how we were all picked up...
no subject
[She sounds earnest enough asking that.]
For me, I was... I was taking a walk. [Looking for someone actually.]
The next thing I know, it was like waking up from a dream and the place I knew was replaced with all this.
[Gesturing to their surroundings.]

If it bent it would be a cheap foundation, wouldn't it? [Yeah so uh. Fujino. There are a lot of questions here?]
no subject
Well. If you think about it, anything can be bent. It just depends on the amount of force after all.
[The manner in which she speaks is gentle and proper... Even if she is talking about twisting literal objects.]

Might be for the better that I'm here on my own, really.
no subject
[(although for her peace of mind, maybe one person would do nicely)]
These scrolls are kind of like "missing persons" posters... Except were already here.
no subject
[ said mildly. ]
There's only one person for whom I'd really care about their being here, and it's better that they're not.

open the gates!
I'm sorry. What's wrong? What were you trying to bend?
[ She can connect dots, but sometimes, it's simpler to ask for an answer than make an assumption right out of the gate. ]
no subject
I was trying to open the gate.
[Well, that only kinda sort of answers the question.]
It's quite sturdy though. We have our work cut out for us.
no subject
[ That's her first assumption, at least. ]
Is it resistant to magic?
[ She considers the gates a bit more closely now. ]
