INTRO LOG
Week Zero
32 in Competition
32 in Competition
The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.
A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.
Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.
Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.
It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.

Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.
Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

SHRINE MAIDEN;
HAUS OF MAXWELL;
WILDCARD;
hausmate.............
Nothing is labeled, no one can know they're 'intruding' until it's too late.

That's true. However, it seems only logical to be on your guard upon entering an unfamiliar building.

Or are you from here?

[There's a moment as she gives Akane the once-over, and hums out loud. Dropping the blade, she starts making her way towards the other girl, movements brazen and unafraid.]
As did you, correct? I recognize you from the scrolls.

She offers Milla a smile, now that she doesn't have a SWORD POINTED AT HER. ]
All of us just got here, from what I can tell.

First Meeting
I would've disclosed all of this on my own.

They're full of omega three fatty acids and B vitamins! Omega three fatty acids are thought to prevent heart disease and B vitamins are essential for proper digestion of nutrients.
Sardines belong to the family Clupeidae, which also include herrings, shads, sardines, hilsa, and menhadens. The thing they all have in common are their ray fins.
In some cultures, sardine heads are thought to ward off evil.
no subject
I see. So sardines... are a kind of delicious fish?
no subject
What Val actually says is:]
They're delicious and nutritious. They should be part of any balanced meal!

meetings
[ hello this is definitely not someone with the same last name as the genesis sage attempting to make light conversation.
julius for his part dealt with the laser focus examination by doing the exact same thing back, rather than backing down or anything like that. ]
no subject
Outlandish... yes, perhaps that's the best way to put it.
[Turning her entire body, she faces the younger man face-on, hands on her hips.]
You certainly have an interesting last name. Is it simply coincidence, I wonder?
no subject
[ Is there an echo in here. Julius slowly shifts his weight, then crosses his arms over his front. ]
I could say the same about yours, I'd think. That, and... 'Human literacy,' Maxwell?
no subject
she tilts her head, hand on her chin, still watching his movements, expression.]
But I suppose your surprise at my ability listing is understandable. Although it is my belief that a thorough understanding of both humans and spirits is essential to the lord of spirits' position, there have been others that did not necessarily share that belief. And of course, I am always learning.
no subject
... If the records are accurate, you were among the few who were more sympathetic to humans to begin with. Summing the entirety of that up as 'human literacy'... well. There's probably worse ways to phrase it.
But if you are in fact who you say you are, then you mean to tell me that whatever force was responsible for us all having been pulled to this place has enough power to subvert even the Lord of Spirits?

[She's nearly smiling over the sword. What an impertinent boy!!]
The small device? No. Do you recognize it?
no subject
Looks like a phone. Fancier than mine... [ If it's not hers, then- ] Sometimes, it'll say whose it is, if the profile's filled out.
[ The owner isn't here, that means the phone is open for snooping ]
no subject
[??? ?????????]
What is that?
no subject
What you use to call long distance. Or take pictures. Or play games.

first meeting
[Mary first points to her own tapestry, but then looks at Milla's. Abruptly, she puts one of her small arms in a muscle flexing position.]
Can you do this?
no subject
Hmm... sad? I don't know. I don't think so--
[what is
this child doing
all further musings are cut off by the weird flex
but ok]
--Oh! Yes, I can!
[Completely seriously, Milla flexes her own biceps, the corded muscles solidifying.]
no subject
Yay! Hooray!
no subject
nonplussed, Milla simply lets it happen.]
Hah, my strength is more than enough for this.
Are you having a good time, child?
