Week Seven
13 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. As usual, you guys were a big help in purging the darkness that lingered in the gateway from last week. We'll take it from here." There's a pause. "...we've got a new one for you, but there's something really weird about it. It's even larger than the last, so be careful when you're out there."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Would it be odd to say that I believe you are all doing well? Your growth has been admirable.... Have heart as you continue to move forward."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find that somewhere on their person, a small word is printed displaying their most prominent trait. Though they may not agree, or even realize it, this is a trait that most strongly defines them and over the week this trait will slowly become amplified.

[she rolls her eyes because of course she does - but it’s more fondly than she’ll ever admit to. she would normally complain about not focusing on the mission, but she knows that tsuru likes getting attention and doted on by now....

so she’ll just keep walking and head more toward the ocean, squinting as she wonders if she sees something floating out in the water

anyone wanna reenact how she died]

[ he looks at lili, then over to where she's staring at. ]

... should we go look?

[ it's said in his usual tone, but he casts a concerned glance over at kara rather quickly. ]

[ he follows their gaze out to sea, pausing for only a moment before starting to march out toward the waves ]

We won't know if all we do is stand around.

[ he's absolutely not going to acknowledge this situation just yet. he can be bothered by it later. ]

[coastal]

[lili is not looking at either of them, because there are eggs in the ocean? if she’s nervous or hesitant, it doesn’t really show in her footsteps.]

I think I see some eggs...!

[and there’s a pause of one whole second - before an ice bridge starts to form out into the water, because she’s the only water-aligned person here and this is the most she can do.]

I’m going to go check.

[hope there’s nothing in the water]

[ it's muttered. why is this not the first time he has said this

but haha, yeah, tsuru won't let her go alone, so he'll follow after, mostly keeping an eye in case something might attack while everyone is distracted by trying to get to the eggs. ]

[unfriendliest]

[ haha well okay that's fine?? i guess?? kara watches after lili for a moment, frowning, before turning away. tsuru will handle it if something comes from that way, so kara keeps walking down the beach to look for any baby digimon out here. ]

...I think I hear something.

[coastal]

[yea tsuru and lili have got this - the ice bridge is sturdy even as it sits atop the waves, even though some water might lap over it and wet the surface.]

Be careful - don’t slip.

[lili’s practiced walking on ice so she doesn’t have as much issue, but she doesn’t know if the same could be said for others. she’ll get them pretty close to the eggs, reaching out to retrieve them.

and she’ll just work a little faster when kara says that]

Please tell me you can swim.

[preowned]

I probably wouldn't drown.

[ but he looks back to where kara is, frowning slightly. ]

Hand me the eggs when you get them. I'm not sure how much practice you have with fighting while holding onto something.

[ in case they get attacked. ]

[unfriendliest]

[ you're dead, tsuru. ]

I'll be fine.

[ but he'll give tsuru a nod, and keep one hand on his sword, just in case. though his eyes aren't on the eggs anymore, but something a little further out to sea. ]

Let's just hurry and get them back.

[coastal]

[well she sure doesn’t have any experience with that - but once she gets ahold of an egg, she’ll hand it back to tsuru and also take a second one that’s floating out there]

I’ll get out of your way if it comes to a fight - you don’t have to worry about me.

[just so no one gets distracted over something stupid like that]

[ he's also staring at the ocean, and he'll gently nudge lili so that she's the one closer to the shore after they grab the eggs. ]

Yes, you're very reliable, now back to the beach.

[ he feels like kara might stab him if he runs back ahead of lili so this is fine ]

[unfriendliest]

[ haha tsuru knows him so well

but since the two of them have the eggs, kara will wait for both of them to reach the shore before following himself. he thought he was imagining it before, that he was just misreading the waves, but no - there's definitely something heading this way. ]

Tsuru - give the egg to Lili. Something's coming.

[ and he's going to draw his sword, so at least one of them is ready ]

[coastal]

[neat - tsuru will barely have to offer the egg out before lili grabs it from him and starts to scurry away further from the water]

I’m gonna keep looking for more along the shore! If either of you get hurt, I won’t forgive you!!

[because she’s not interested in just being useless while they fight but at least she won’t wander too far]

[ he would make another dead joke because honestly he's been dead long enough that it is no longer 'too soon' for him, but at that moment the water becomes rougher, breaking apart a large patch of the ice path. ]

Ah... we made it back right on time.

[ now he can pull a sword out, immediately going to where kara is. ]

Yo.

[ hey guess who's immediately distracted by the sword instead of the potential enemy coming their

it's kara ]

Is that...?

[ but it looks like he won't have a lot of time to ask questions, because then there's a divermon bursting from the water to dive at them ]

[haha!

lili is just going to watch this happen before she continues to waddle off and go looking for more digimon

what if they get beat up while she gets to slowly collect digibabies]

[ lili has a great time babyhunting

but he just turns from kara to look at the digimon and-- oh it's ugly. sad.

it must have somehow sensed the insult because it throws its harpoon in their direction. ]

[ well, that's fine. throwing your weapon is pretty fucking stupid anyway, so kara dodges around the harpoon and lunges for the creature itself, slashing at the arm that threw it.

he's just gonna trust that lili is doing fine and saving the babies, it's cool. ao is probably going to abandon kara's shoulder to join her at some point. ]

[lili is 100% doing the rest of the mission, making muffled noises of delight whenever she finds a new baby

when ao wanders over to her, her expression brightens and then tries to hug her, which makes her glitch out

and nearly drop the eggs

but she grabs them before they fall it’s fine no one saw]

[ please don't drop the eggs

tsuru moves to help kara but then pauses, as something catches his attention

why is there a baby on what's left of the ice path

why is there another divermon that is moving to the ice path

he is immediately abandoning kara to go in that direction instead goodbye ]

[ at least someone is having a good time

kara starts when tsuru bolts for the ice again, but he's going to trust that he can handle it. in the meantime he has to make sure this thing doesn't spot lili and the eggs, but it's somehow?? reclaimed its harpoon already?? and is taking another dive at kara. it cuts him on the shoulder as he tries to dodge, so he decides to give it a taste of fire in retaliation. ]

[coastal]

[look lili can defend herself fine by now but she’s not going to make herself an easy target when there are two swords around?? but she’ll move to at least try to obscure herself and the eggs - maybe she can find more babies in the foliage anyway

Lili, I'm going to need you to take another one!

[ once he. gets the baby away from this mess.

but he'll run onto the ice, slip slightly, before running to get between the bab and the divermon so he can slash at it. hopefully kara is having a good time. ]

[ tsuru is so graceful

anyway kara's gonna try to force this one away from the ice path so lili has a clear shot at the baby digimon. thanks to his last attack, the rope on the end of the harpoon has caught fire and the divermon has to drop it or sustain even more burns... either way, it's more vulnerable now, so he wastes no more time slashing at its hands, blade wreathed in flame, before stepping in for a jab. ]

Coming!! Ao, guard the eggs!

[ao does a little salute because she's a good squirrel

and now Lili will run off to try to meet tsuru to catch the baby!!]

You can throw it - gently!

[LET A SWORD YEET A BABY]
