Week Seven
13 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. As usual, you guys were a big help in purging the darkness that lingered in the gateway from last week. We'll take it from here." There's a pause. "...we've got a new one for you, but there's something really weird about it. It's even larger than the last, so be careful when you're out there."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Would it be odd to say that I believe you are all doing well? Your growth has been admirable.... Have heart as you continue to move forward."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find that somewhere on their person, a small word is printed displaying their most prominent trait. Though they may not agree, or even realize it, this is a trait that most strongly defines them and over the week this trait will slowly become amplified.

[ Says Minato plucking grass straight off the ground. ]

[ that logic doesn't sound right but she doesn't care enough to argue ]

Yep. You flush them out, and I'll grab them.

[ and she'll give it a try

but, yes, she's much better at her powers now, so the grass very easily starts to grow. ]

[ Cool. The grass grows and grows and soon it's like chin high and Minato can't see shit but there are no screaming babies far as he can see. Just a lot of evil looking tomatoes looking agitated for being disturbed and dropping back down onto the ground to roll their way. ]

Don't see anything yet.

[whitewalls]

What about those?

[ she points at the digimon that are literally about to attack them right now ]

[ Oh. Huh. Naminé's hands are full but Minato has a free one to lift and throw lava on the tomato to kill it and also to catch everything else on fire too; Naminé wouldn't let him burn down the forest so he's doing it here. Keeping the eggs warm, it's fine. ]

[whitewalls]

[ i don't know how to respond to this ]

Minato, we need to put the fire out. There could be babies nearby.

[compendiem]

Hm.

[ Pity.







No, alright, fine. ] Fire requires three things: fuel, oxygen, and heat. You can remove fuel by getting rid of the grass.

[ And then the only fuel left would be the weird tomatoes. And the babies. ]

[whitewalls]

[ NOT THE BABIES

but she will go to make the grass no longer tall.

which is what she had suggested to do in the first place. ]

[ One day Naminé will learn to tell Minato his ideas are stupid and just go ahead with her own plan.

But with the grass gone, the fire dies out too, leaving a bunch of tomato monsters just sort of laying there— they're not dead, but they're sort of squashed? Like how cooked tomatoes get all mushy and squashed looking. ]

Oh. There's a whole bunch of eggs out there. Must be the nest. Let's put this one back.

[ Where it belongs. ]

[whitewalls]

[ ............

she looks at the eggs, then at minato ]

I think we need to take them all.

[compendiem]

[ "I think you're being greedy."

Minato nods. ]

I can probably carry one more, while still holding onto the grass... Or, do you think you can make vines grow here? I'd be able to weave them into a basket.

[whitewalls]

Oh... let's try the basket idea.

[ she can do vines!!

... she just won't do it in the gross as hell way hisoka does ]

[compendiem]

[ Terrible, because Minato saw it before and thought it was fascinating. But vines like this are easier to work with, and it doesn't take too long to make a basket, weaving a square more or less and then bringing up the edges so the eggs can rest inside. There is no handle, but the basket is large enough that Minato can carry one side and Naminé the other and they can collect enough eggs to feed everybody twice over. Maybe Kara will finally pardon him about the bread thing if he sees all the eggs; it's been like three weeks since they've talked. ]

[whitewalls]

[ minato really out here thinking that naminé just has an intense egg craving ]

Alright, let's go.

[ see, now it's still like they're holding hands, except it's a large basket. ]

[compendiem]

[ Yeah, maybe she missed breakfast. A tragedy.

It's a lot easier now, gathering up all the eggs and threatening any tomatoes with lava if they try to get in the way, but it's also... very heavy, the basket quickly gets really heavy, why does Naminé want so many eggs ]

[whitewalls]

... I think that's all of them.

[ she looks happy, at least

they saving babies ]

[compendiem]

[ Cool, but like. How are they supposed to get this back. ]

I dunno how well you can control plants and stuff, to maybe help carry this back... I've got something that would work, but it's back in hell so I'd have to go back and get it.

[whitewalls]

Hm... I can try to carry it.

[ she wouldn't want to make minato do it if he wouldn't want to?? and it'll take a while for him to leave then come back... ]

[compendiem]

[ It'll take a while and he'll probably forget and leave Naminé sitting in the field with these eggs until the next day. ]

Yeah, give it a try. If you're strong enough for this, you'll be strong enough for catapults.

[whitewalls]

You really want the catapults...

[ but okay, she is going to try to lift up this basket on her own.

... she can do it but. it will be a struggle. ]

[compendiem]

I was really looking forward to it.

[ Minato keeps hold of the basket, but isn't really lifting it. He's sort of here like moral support? He's here to use the basket as a means to sort of hold Naminé's hand. ]
