Week Seven

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. As usual, you guys were a big help in purging the darkness that lingered in the gateway from last week. We'll take it from here." There's a pause. "...we've got a new one for you, but there's something really weird about it. It's even larger than the last, so be careful when you're out there."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Would it be odd to say that I believe you are all doing well? Your growth has been admirable.... Have heart as you continue to move forward."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find that somewhere on their person, a small word is printed displaying their most prominent trait. Though they may not agree, or even realize it, this is a trait that most strongly defines them and over the week this trait will slowly become amplified.

[ ............. ookurikara doesn't have to know that axel was part of this but he does carry more than strictly necessary to try and make sure the mess left is. less. than it could be ]

[ Minato grins and breaks into a jog— not a full run, because that takes too much energy, and he can pretend it's so he's being conscientious and not leaving Axel behind. But he also definitely cuts corners and phases himself through buildings and lampposts and whatever instead of walking around them. ]

[leaberator]

Wh-- slow down, already! Some of us are still corporeal!

[ brat. it'd be more believable if he didn't sound amused. lea's not jogging or running, though, because fuck that. he doesn't have to!!! he could drop this croissant bread!!! where are they even going. ]

[compendiem]

[ They're going back to the meeting hall where I presume the portal back is, where Minato stops right in front of to block the way so Axel can catch up and meet up with him before they launch phase 1 of the plan. ]

[leaberator]

[ i have no idea where the portal is because i refuse to read so sure let's pretend it's there. i think it's in the gateway but shhh. axel finally catches up and stares at the portal ]

Alright... What did you wanna do?

[compendiem]

[ The moment I died I stopped reading anything, so there's there wherever the portal is, it's fine. Minato needs it to be the portal between the village and the Digital World, because what he wants to do— and what he does— is phase his hand through the croissant and keep it there. ]

'cause I can touch stuff on the other side, but not over here, right? So if I keep it like this, and we walk through the portal together, the bread will fuse together with my hand?

[leaberator]

[ um ]

Why do you want the bread to fuse with your hand.

[compendiem]

I don't want it to, but I thought it would be interesting to see if it happens?

[leaberator]

Won't you be stuck without a hand if it does?

[compendiem]

I'd still have a hand... it'll just be a bread hand. That's not terrible. I could nibble off the parts that stick out.

[leaberator]

I think that's cannibalism.

[compendiem]

Vally doesn't have to know.

[leaberator]

[ he nods slowly ]

I dunno that I want you to start straight up eating yourself, but if your heart's set on it, let's give it a shot.

[ off they go to bread fusion land*

*axel is only doing this because he's pretty sure it won't work ]

[ Minato is very sure it will work, and so he's immediately disappointed when the bread doesn't even make it over to the other side so long as he's touching it. ]

Oh... weird.

[ He leans back through the village side of the portal to pick the bread off the floor, before remembering he can't do that. ]

Axel, can you get that for me?

[ He wants to eat the floor bread. ]

[leaberator]

[ he shouldn't.

He eats his bread, like he's forgotten that the point was to stockpile for the winter. ]

axel watches him eat the whole bread before: ]

Weren't you trying to bring those back to the other side?

[compendiem]

[ ...yeah, he would wait until Minato eats the entire thing before speaking up ]

Oh. Yeah... Maybe you could send some more bread down with the lanterns sometimes? I'll draw you stuff back, in return.

[leaberator]

[ of course? it's funny. ]

I've been sending bread already! [ he's laughing ] But sure, I'll keep it up.

[compendiem]

Three meals a day, every day, is a lot of bread.

[ Minato's sort of expecting daily shipments of bread, come on ]

...But I was surprised you remembered to send it. I was really happy. You followed through with surprise bread after all, so here's my half of the deal: Sol's cloak is fireproof.
