Week Seven

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. As usual, you guys were a big help in purging the darkness that lingered in the gateway from last week. We'll take it from here." There's a pause. "...we've got a new one for you, but there's something really weird about it. It's even larger than the last, so be careful when you're out there."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Would it be odd to say that I believe you are all doing well? Your growth has been admirable.... Have heart as you continue to move forward."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find that somewhere on their person, a small word is printed displaying their most prominent trait. Though they may not agree, or even realize it, this is a trait that most strongly defines them and over the week this trait will slowly become amplified.

[Wherever people are gathered most (and at the moment, that seems to be gatewayland, as part of the mini-event, Milla clears her throat very deliberately, and steps on a slightly elevated surface.]

Attention, everyone.

I received a message from Isa—or Saix, as many of you know him—regarding the circumstances of our situation. He has informed me that, when our number falls below ten, then the lives of our hosts and caretakers, Sol and Lune, are able to become targets of the corrupted—or otherwise.

[expression ever-neutral, Milla's tone betrays her—she hates it, thanks.]

We cannot let this happen. Wherever feasibly possible, let us strive to keep our number alive.

That is all I received, unfortunately.

[there's a brief cloud over her expressions, like she just ate a particularly sour pickle]

Was that all you received? There wasn't anything else about what this means for us?

That is the whole of what I received, unfortunately. If I had anything else at all, I would have shared it freely.

According to Lune and Sol, we are still on the right path. We are sharing information, working on trusting each other, and practicing the best "right" practices we can, to show the infant core the correct way to mature.

[omegathree]

[Val... closes his eyes as he deals with that information.]

So they'll become player characters once the number drops too low. [He mumbles it, but it's still in his Disgaea blood.

Pretty clear he hates this.]

Was there any other information that made it through? Tsurumaru sent that so far they haven't found another way to clear the darkness besides what we're doing each week.

I don't know about Milla, but I didn't receive anything noteworthy besides that.

No, I have received nothing else. If I had, I would have shared it on Monday, alongside Lea, North, and Emma's announcements.

[After he's heard both Shess and Milla speak, he scowls.]

Currently the condition that must be met is the number of us left must be one.

However, if we drop to ten, Sol and Lune will be in danger of becoming targets.

Yes. And I believe that to be a serious danger, if more than one or two are targeted on Thursday.

After all, we must choose one of our number to be cleansed, as well.

If we're lucky we'll find another purifying item. If we aren't... these numbers won't work out in our favor.

Then we will hope for the items, and the best, and plan for the lack of them, and the worst.

Unfortunately, this also means that the corrupted may choose to go after them precisely for this reason, now.

[leaberator]

[ to interject-- ]

I think... he means don't let Sol or Lune die.

He sent me the same thing. It makes sense-- the less people we have, the more affected by everything Sol and Lune have been, same as the rest of us.

[she pins him with a curious look for a brief moment--then lets him wriggle away, nodding.]

It does form a terrible logic.

Worse still, I fear the idea of one, or both of them, being corrupted.
