week eight: mingle
Week Eight
9 in Competition
9 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find three large, swirling masses grey in color looming near the sakura tree. These swirls cannot be approached just yet, but seem to be locked and waiting for something more. Later in the day, if those in the village approach the third mass they will find themselves in a version of their home world. This world is completely void of people, but seems to be just as they last remember it. No darkness will be found in this world as well.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. They don't speak immediately, but wait for all to settle.

Welcome to your week eight mingle! We have now hit endgame week.
In addition, ensure that all of your week seven private conversations were reported on the page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

There may yet be others - while we attempt to determine where the corruption is headed before it hits, we've found that our visions are rather incomplete.

... And what would you prefer the outcome to be?

I am too old to foolishly cling onto matters such as sentiment over practicality -
But perhaps you might understand my feelings on the matter better than any other.
[of what it means to have a charge that you would selfishly protect]

[he smiles sadly.]
Though you realize this makes it a rather difficult situation.

[there is a soft laugh]
Would you allow me this one?
no subject
... But it's the least I can do for you, after everything.
no subject
I already know what I would choose.
[but he won't bother to admit it out loud, in this space where roxas can hear]
... but he is the best of us, you know. He has grown, and demonstrated his ability to make choices and decisions without me to guide him. Even if I am happy to do so...
I think I would like for him to be able to stand on his own, at the end.

Thank you, my friend.
I trust that you will do what needs to be done - along with everyone else here.
no subject
Of course. I'll do as I always have.
no subject
You needn't worry too much.
All will be well in the end.
no subject
But I'll choose to believe that for now.
no subject
However...
You will find it an even greater challenge to convince me that I misplaced my faith in you.
I trust you, even when I do not trust myself.
no subject
Thank you.

[and despite the situation and the topic at hand - that manages to get lune to smile, sincere and pleased.]
Then I am sure that it will pick up again in time - but for now...
You have made this old man very happy already.

Perhaps I am a bit selfishly happy over such a thing.

[a soft use of his name, and lune's hand moves to rest gently at the back of shess' head, guiding him down so that it would be easier for their heads to bow closer to one another and for their foreheads to touch]
I do not plan to go until I must.
And even if I am to leave, I will not be gone for long.
Know that well.
no subject
I'll hold you to that, then. It gets tiring, sometimes, being left behind.
And I do still need to repay my debt.
no subject
[it comes with a little tilt of his own head, curious]
no subject
You'll have to figure that out for yourself.
no subject
[hmmmm]
Is this how it feels to be on the receiving end of my riddles...

Then I will do my best to solve it before my time is up.
