On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

[good news, shess isn't slicing his hand this time. he is, however, apparently signing out a dagger—as someone else enters the armoury, he'll just look up and give them a light smile in acknowledgment. yo.]

[shess is just watching the lanterns on the river, though if someone approaches, he'll turn to them with a smile. writing down in his (text-to-speech) tablet:]

They're rather pretty, aren't they?

[though he has to hold onto his hood to keep it from blowing off, shess casually strolls towards the mountains. even with the constant wind, he looks... oddly at peace? there's a faraway hint in his gaze, at least.]

What's that?

[ ... he's pointing at the sign out sheet, not the dagger. ]

[news headline: sword does not recognize baby sword.]

It seems as though we have to fill this out to take a weapon from here.

[ it's true he doesn't know what a baby is ]

Really? Well, I guess that makes sense if people are already trying to steal them...

[ he's now staring at the tablet though ]

[ look, the last time she was in this place there was a clown juggling daggers. allow her a moment of doubt? ]

... Do I want to know why you're checking out a weapon?

Lune and Sol suggested things may get dangerous.

[also, kara advised it. he pauses, before he smiles softly.]

[he doesn't like to start fights, but he'll end them.]

[ There's a thoughtful pause as she looks at Shess, and the dagger, back and forth a few times. And then-- ]

You know how to use one of those things?

[Nana hadn't expected anyone else to be here, so her reaction is more subdued than usual, glancing from Shess's face to the dagger]

Ah~ Arming yourself, Shess-san?

[nonbelligerent]

Someone advised it earlier. Better to be careful than to have regrets.

That does sound like a good idea.

[Though on her end, she only eyes the weapons with wariness]

... Do you think I should grab something, too?

...pleasant, isn't it?

[he's not raising his voice any more than he needs to, just enough for it to be heard over the wind-- normally he would keep a little more distance, but it's sort of a pain to shout a conversation. so.]

Or at the very least, more comfortable than some of the others.

[shess wouldn't really know because honestly he has better resistance to that stuff than humans, but.]

[that voice gets a curious glance, but he doesn't ask immediately. what that thing is, he has no idea-- but either shess has a reason to use a fake voice or he has a need for it. i am sparing you from explaining it yet again.

[ Someone here is also walking towards the mountains, and while she's not daunted by the winds, she does look a little disgruntled whenever a particular strong gust of wind whips her hair wildly about. It ruins her neat appearance, and that sucks? ]

[or. the closest thing to home by his race's standards, he guesses.]

[ He's so diligent to be writing on his device even with all this wind.... What's he going to do if the wind takes his writing utensil? ]

I lived in the mountains, too. It was in a citadel pretty high up.
