On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.
The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.
When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.
Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.
In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.
Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?
Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

Welcome to your tutorial week mingle log! Please see all the links within the log to check out the new updates. In addition, your status page has been updated. In case you missed it, please report all item theft to this top-level where all comments are screened. Private conversations are also open and should be reported under the Week 0 top-level.
A mini-event will also be posted on Wednesday, June 5th, so please keep an eye out for that!

...
nope. He'll just try to walk in the other direction and do his best to ignore the urge to dance with him ]
no subject
unfortunately he'll also be following that urge, trying to see if it's the fire magic pulling him somewhere again, except what he finds is - ]
Ah.
[ you. ]
no subject
There was something about partners, but it can't be true. And it can't be to this guy, right?
A beat and then he'll point to himself and then to Kara. ]
no subject
no.
this time ookurikara is the one turning around to leave. he'll be back in a few minutes because blah blah blah fate or whatever but he's certainly not happy about it.
somehow this is all sol's fault and kara will never forgive him. ]
no subject
and he finds himself taking a step towards him to follow. His tail bristles as he stops himself. No. If anyone is going to initiate this, then it has to be the rude swordie. ]
no subject
this is the worst. worse even than the weird welcome party they gave him at the citadel.
this is a problem. now that he's back, ookurikara is rooted to the spot, staring at feral with blatant distaste. how does he escape this! ]
no subject
just going to step closer, sighing as he does so. why this and maybe there's something he could do
or maybe they could ask one of their hosts if there's something they could to undo whatever this is. ]
no subject
how dare you come closer??
- how dare kara's feet move him closer?!
they're really gonna make them do this, aren't they. fine. FINE. he fixes feral with a stare and says simply, ]
One dance.
[ it's clear he's furious but it's not actually your fault this time which is somehow worse ]
no subject
also he isn't even sure if he knows how to dance? just going to scratch his chin for a moment before his shoulders slump and deciding to just get this over with.
hesitantly going to offer his hand. do they need to be touching? ]
no subject
...it's probably a good thing that whoever dressed him also made him leave the sword behind or they might have even more trouble on their hands. as it is, he'll take feral's hand and roughly pull him toward the dance floor. sword-stealers don't deserve to be handled gently, okay. ]
no subject
If he knew he'd be such a pain, he wouldn't have bothered touching his sword wow.
once on the floor though, he'll stand there awkwardly for a moment... okay maybe its best he isn't leading ]
no subject
but now that they're out here, and feral looks like he doesn't know what to do with himself, ookurikara gives an annoyed huff, rolls his eyes, and takes feral's other hand in his. he'd rather do suzume odori, or something like an onikenbai, but the music isn't right and they're not partner dances, either.
luckily(?) for them both, masamune was a proponent of western culture, so he knows some others - like the basics of a waltz. though he is very pointedly not looking at feral, he'll lead feral in one step forward, then to the side.
what did he do to deserve this. ]
no subject
also wow it's not his fault that he doesn't know what to do. he's usually killing shit or completing jobs? dancing isn't ever on the list.
he's looking at their feet and moving with him as he goes. what even is this dance. ]
no subject
It's not that hard. Try to keep up.
[ he sounds pretty impatient, though. ]
no subject
it's only hard cause some people aren't great teachers
he sighs out a breath as he rolls his eyes. putting his other hand on kara's waist to help him feel when the other is planning on moving. better?
at least he's not stepping on his toes as much as it's tempting to. ]
no subject
if they have to do it again he's coming for sol.
once their feet come together again, though, it's just repeating those steps. ookurikara doesn't make it any more complicated than that, both because feral seems to be having issues and because he just wants this to be over. ]
