On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

[ After seeing the new scrolls, Ookurikara has spent most of the day cooking, and he was absolutely planning on dropping off the food and leaving. Unfortunately for him, someone caught him and somehow wrangled him into some actually decent clothes, so now here he is, looking for all intents and purposes like the victim in a hostage situation.

He's going to busy himself with checking out the food, but. He doesn't even know what some of the potluck dishes are, or if they're even safe to eat, considering the cooking skills of most people here. After picking up... something, Ookurikara can't bring himself to taste it, so he just squints dubiously instead. ]

...What is this?

ii. music... and dancing maybe?
[ Music is good. That's the real reason Ookurikara stays, and though he never smiles, he's very much enjoying the sound. Find him leaning against a wall, eyes closed, or simply watching everyone else dance for lack of anything better to do.

Someone will have to actually drag him out to dance, but he won't resist unless he actually hates them. It's fine, he's actually kind of talented. ]

unfortunately he'll also be following that urge, trying to see if it's the fire magic pulling him somewhere again, except what he finds is - ]

[ Crossing his arms as he sighs LOUDLY. He's not exactly thrilled, but he does feel a pull.

There was something about partners, but it can't be true. And it can't be to this guy, right?

A beat and then he'll point to himself and then to Kara. ]

this time ookurikara is the one turning around to leave. he'll be back in a few minutes because blah blah blah fate or whatever but he's certainly not happy about it.

somehow this is all sol's fault and kara will never forgive him. ]

[ Yeah, that's kind of how Four feels about some of this food, too. ]

[ he continues staring at it uncertainly before finally... setting it down. he's not going to risk it. ]

[ he'll go for the wagashi instead, then. he knows those. ]

[ but what if those are poisoned ]

Those are quaint, but I've never seen a confection quite like that.

[ then i guess 90% of the population is about to starve because he just took a bite

and he doesn't answer. just takes another one of them and offers it to four. ]

[ but he looks like he would rather die than eat it. ]

[ ...right. after seeing some of you fools attempt to cook, he's not going to risk it. it goes back on the plate. ]

They shouldn't have asked us to bring food.

[ kara's may or may not be some of the only edible stuff here and he doesn't like that. ]

It's not so bad. It's... a learning experience? Everyone gets to find out how well everyone else can cook. Or can't.

We've been here long enough to know that already.

[ there's a reason kara's in the kitchen so damn often ]

They shouldn't waste food if they can't cook it.

I don't know, but this bunch of food is not what I expected. I'm surprised.

[Like, there's some sort of pudding made with blood? Fish blood?

What were you expecting?

[ besides the many questionable dishes on this table, some of these are exactly what you'd see at a festival. or is that not how it works for walking... dogs? is she a dog. he never figured that out. ]

I don't even know. Something sweeter? And...with less blood and vegetables?

[Omnivores, what's up with them. Grim Eyes is one too, but she sure skews hard towards an end of the spectrum]

This stuff is almost...boring.

There are plenty of sweets.

[ ookurikara even brought some himself... even if he did also bring Actual Food because he already knows no one here can feed themselves.

he'll point some of them out, in case she somehow missed them. some are even shaped like animals! (at least he thinks those are sweets? they're so cute he can't bring himself to eat one.) ]

ii! let's try this again now that my hell week is over

[it's time to dance! can horses dance? only one way to find out. swift wind lowers his head to ookurikara's back to nudge him toward the dance floor once he catches him watching everyone dance.]

Less watching, more doing. Come on!

[ ?! suddenly he's being pushed toward the dance floor, and when he looks over his shoulder there is-

the horse?

holy shit. he's so surprised he doesn't even try to fight this. ]

[Once he is satisfied that Ookurikara isn't going to just run off, Swift Wind prances alongside him until they take their place on the dance floor. Then he sinks down into a low, horsey kind of bow.]

Ready to start?

[ he has genuinely no idea what is happening right now. but... okay. he'll bow to the horse. ]

...Yeah.

[ how does horses dance? he's intrigued. ]
