On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.
The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.
When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.
Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.
In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.
Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?
Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

Welcome to your tutorial week mingle log! Please see all the links within the log to check out the new updates. In addition, your status page has been updated. In case you missed it, please report all item theft to this top-level where all comments are screened. Private conversations are also open and should be reported under the Week 0 top-level.
A mini-event will also be posted on Wednesday, June 5th, so please keep an eye out for that!

[ If she picks up any food to try, it's the healthiest and most boring looking options on the table. However, if anyone is paying attention, she keeps glancing at any sweets or desserts that are there.
She never grabs any sweets for herself because she's difficult.
Never mind that, though, because she's looking over the food with an apprehensive expression. ]
At least now we can tell who can cook and who can't... and who thinks about nutrition and who doesn't.

[ Sometimes, Four can be caught looking at the dance floor like she wants to dance, but she won't ever ask anyone because again, she's stupidly difficult. Instead, if there's any dishware or silverware left around, she goes around picking it up. It's like she's cleaning to keep herself busy or something. ]
Are you done with that?
[ Her tone is polite but distracted. Even if someone's plate is half full, she'll ask. ]

[ he says, but he didn't make anything. ]

[ There's another slightly judgmental look at all the food. ]
It's very bleak.

[ the nicest thing to say about most of these is that the food is, in fact, physically present. ]

[ Is she joking? It's a little hard to tell. ]
no subject
[ which is quite a bold statement to make. ]

Truly? Is that what you think? You think we can fix it and get out of here in a week or two? Or less?

... I suppose you're right. Perhaps we'll be here for months.

[...But, as she eyes all the dishes:]
I can't really argue for the whole cooking thing, though.

Desserts are the easier pick. [ Four's smile is something akin to a faint grimace. ] Maybe two of us can cook, at best.

[But probably not.]

[ Malnutrition is bad!! ]

We might be doomed.

You sure about that?

[There's a couple things on the table she likes, but Grim Eyes is not particularly adventurous about stuff that isn't meat]

[ Some of these choices leave a lot to be desired.]

[The benefit of eating carrion is that not much can be worse, pretty much]

[ Four appears to be thinking about it. ]
... I accept, but I'm worried about most of the food.

[She liked it enough, but she doubts the humans in the group will]

[ She's not human, but she's also not trying it. ]

[It's kind of cute, if silly]

[She's looking over at the food as well, though it doesn't look like she intends to grab anything for herself. It's more like she's inspecting each dish like someone would inspect a piece of plastic or, you know, something inedible.]

[ If people don't die from being killed, they'll die from not being able to cook.
She tries not to look too judgmental, but she may be failing that a little. ]
It's a little sad.
