On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

But yes, Minato is very pleased that she catches on so quickly, and so he decides she's ready to advance to level two. This involves taking his hands out of his pockets and adding some fistpumps in the air.

Now you try. ]

[ she watches him for a moment, like she's studying this complicated move very thoroughly

and then naminé will lift a single hand into the air, and she will pump it. this is what's happening right now. ]

Perfect. You're a natural.

[ He turns to face her, and mirrors that move too— in this way, they're sort of dancing in sync, and less like two people stomping around not knowing what they're doing.

I made a mistake and should have apped Persona 3 Dancing Minato if I knew there would be dancing ]

[whitewalls]

[ but he is already a dancing queen like this ]

It's fun! [ she. thinks. it feels fun? ] What kind of dancing is this?

[compendiem]

[ He's not sure if it feels fun either, but he nods anyways. ]

What do you mean?

[ The style, or the name.............. don't ask him, he doesn't know ]

What's it called? Daiba told me about something called the tango earlier.

Hm... if I were to call it something... I supposed it would be "freestyle"?

[ Freestyle means doing whatever. And they sure are doing whatever. ]

Did you learn the tango from her?

[whitewalls]

She tried teaching me, but... I'm not sure if I really learned anything. It was mostly just her leading and me stepping on her feet.

[ there's a laugh. ]

But it was nice.

[compendiem]

It takes practice. Here- [ he holds out his hand again ] I can lead, and you can step on my feet.

[whitewalls]

I hope you won't take that last part back.

[ but she'll take his hand, just as easily like she did before. ]

[compendiem]

I don't go back on my word.

[ Which is why he never promised to tango, or be very good at dancing, or be a decent leader, either. It's a dance in that they're holding hands, but Minato doesn't know how to tango, so it's just. You know. The same shuffle steps except they're close enough together to stomp on each other's feet— though Minato takes care not to. For extra flair, there's some fist pumping involved. ]

[whitewalls]

[ honestly, she's very fine this? it even makes her laugh, cheerful and bright because this is a type of ridiculous that naminé isn't used to going through herself.

she does accidentally step on his foot, but not as much as she could have, and at least her steps are light. ]

[compendiem]

[ It's unfair, the way Naminé laughs and Minato cheers up right away, that for all the awkwardness and ridiculousness of what they're doing, something has gone right somehow, that Naminé is laughing and enjoying herself and Minato doesn't have to worry about screwing up. It's comforting, and relieving, to get human interaction right for once in his life.

But I don't know how to write dancing, so eventually the song ends and Minato slows to a stop, wiggling the soreness out of his toes, inside his shoes. ]

Thanks for the dance. I had fun.

Me too.

[ she's still smiling, and it's harder to tell that at the start of this she was awkwardly standing on her own poking at food.

naminé holds her hand out to him. ]

Freestyling was nice.

[compendiem]

[ They're holding hands and Naminé is going to die this weekend and I'm going to cry.

It's fine!!!! Minato's used to dead friends, he will enjoy this while he can. ]

Right? This party was a good time, in the end. I hope you get to spend lots of time with lots of other people, too.

[ And then she dies?? tomorrow??? I have one fear ]

[ it's fine :)

she nods her head, looking over to the rest of the group and whatever disaster they're all doing. some people are still pretty skeptical and are being grouches (saix) but... ]

You too. I think that anyone would have a nice time if they're with you.

[compendiem]

A good time takes both sides. I dunno if anybody else would crash a tractor into a gate with me, besides you.

[ There's some people here who are skeptical and grouches, yeah, but at least they're not... stupid... like the two of them. ]

It was a way to make a good first impression.

[ maybe not "good" but. it was definitely a memorable one.

and she can't say she would have done that on her own, so it was nice to have a new experience even if it ended with them crashing horribly. ]

[ It was definitely... an impression ]

It's a bit late for it now, but... Next time, don't think you have to agree with me to make a good impression. Telling me I'm wrong is fine, too. I won't get mad.

[ She was clearly hesitant about it, but ended up going with him anyways... It's one thing being an enabler, but being enabled and having Naminé get hurt because of his bad ideas is sort of... hmm. ]

[whitewalls]

... okay.

[ ah, so he noticed. she idly scratches the back of her head as she tries to figure out how to respond. ]

I was hoping it might work, at first...

[compendiem]

It did work.

[ Even if he noticed right away, because he's so used to people immediately calling him out and berating him for thoughtless ideas instead of immediately going along the same way he does with others, it was still a good impression because he could understand the intention behind it. Because he's like that too. But in the end, he'd really rather people do what they want, not feel like they have to do what he wants. ]

I'll like you no matter what you do. So you don't have to worry about stuff like that.

[ Naminé could be a murderer, and Minato would stan ]

[whitewalls]

[ the only time she's heard something like that, it was based on a lie. so there's an odd feeling in her chest, and she can't really tell if it's a negative or positive emotion, just that it aches. ]

... thank you.

[ she feels a little silly, getting emotional when they're surrounded by people dancing and there's a clown somewhere, but. ]

[ Who the fuck lied to her about that, I will shank them. ]

You're welcome. I'm a bit thirsty. Do you want something to drink too?

Oh... sure. Are there any drinks here you like in particular?
