On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

I don't know, but this bunch of food is not what I expected. I'm surprised.

[Like, there's some sort of pudding made with blood? Fish blood?

What were you expecting?

[ besides the many questionable dishes on this table, some of these are exactly what you'd see at a festival. or is that not how it works for walking... dogs? is she a dog. he never figured that out. ]

I don't even know. Something sweeter? And...with less blood and vegetables?

[Omnivores, what's up with them. Grim Eyes is one too, but she sure skews hard towards an end of the spectrum]

This stuff is almost...boring.

There are plenty of sweets.

[ ookurikara even brought some himself... even if he did also bring Actual Food because he already knows no one here can feed themselves.

he'll point some of them out, in case she somehow missed them. some are even shaped like animals! (at least he thinks those are sweets? they're so cute he can't bring himself to eat one.) ]

[...she doesn't seem very convinced. Mainly because this is the first time she sees anything like them. She prods one with a claw, unsure]

...does making them in the shape of animals make them sweeter or what.

It's mochi.

[ no answer on whether or not it makes them sweeter, though. ]

What the hell is a mohchy supposed to be? Is it another word for rice you all invented, is that what's going on?

[Way to mangle the pronunciation, Grim Eyes. But yeah, she's not aware of other cultures]

[ it's fine, he knows what she meant ]

It's a rice cake. [ so, half right. ] They're usually filled with something - red bean paste, probably.

[Red bean paste. So it's a grain filled with another grain. Huh.]

...somehow that doesn't sound good.

[That's just because you're really into meat, Grim Eyes. She leaves the mochi aside. There's tonkatsu -- she takes some aside because finally there's something acceptable -- and takes the alcoholic jell-o, giving it a sniff]

And here is some...congealed liquor. Rather colorful, for liquor.

It's not bad.

[ buuut to each their own. that just leaves more for the rest of them. he'll pause at her inspection of the jello, though. ]

...Is that what it is?

[ he's been trying to figure that out for half the night. why is he even surprised that it's liquor? ]

Yes. You can get drunk with this...but it doesn't smell very strong.

[Does she dare to try it. She just...pokes some of the jello, unsure if she should]

You dare to have some of this?

[ hm

he eyes it suspiciously for a moment, but. sure. he'll take another one of them, grab a spoon, and try a bite. if he dies here tonight, grim eyes will know why. ]

It's... sweet. Fruity.

[ what a weird texture, though. ]

You don't seem to be on the verge of death. I guess it's safe. [She crosses her arms] But who thought it was a good idea to make it so dense? That has to be the least appetizing alcohol I have ever seen.

[Having booze with a spoon sounds so wrong]

It tastes fine.

[ he gives it a little shake, frowning. the hyena is right, though. it looks kind of gross. ]
