On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

I guess so. That makes sense. There are a lot more of you here than we thought. [But. Uh. Hm.]

Wait you think my powers are food powers?

[compendiem]

They aren't?

[cyclists]

Not really. But they could be since I keep creating food. [...] How's the cactus?

[compendiem]

[ So... what he's getting is that Sol has other powers other than bringing food into creation, and that there was no reason to make this a potluck when they could just magic an apple and cacti buffet. ]

It's doing well. Making sure it gets sun, and I breathe on it every day.

[cyclists]

[Minato this is not how a human diet works?? Please???]

Are you supposed to breathe on cacti...?

[compendiem]

[ It's a fruit and veggie diet, it's healthy. Minato would've brought fish blood regardless of whether it was a potluck or not. ]

Yeah. Plants make energy and stuff out of carbon dioxide. That's in human breath. So I help it out, it helps me out.

[cyclists]

I think the air here can help it just fine, but it's nice of you to try and make things equal. [They think.]

[compendiem]

[ ...Yes, that is exactly what Minato is doing, making it fair for the cactus. He takes the compliment with a brief smile, and then gets set on collecting two ...champagne glasses, I guess is available, and word of god says there's ice cream available so they're going to make milkshakes. ]

What do you like in your shakes?

[ There's plenty of toppings here. Like fish blood sauce. ]

[cyclists]

[Sol's feisty but Sol's also a dumbass. Nevertheless, they're following along and at that question there's a shrug.]

I've never had one before. Can you make them with these things? [A point to some mochi. Sol has discovered mochi is tasty, please leave them alone.]

[compendiem]

Yeah. Mochi's pretty good in ice cream.

[ He fills one glass up with ice cream, and then picks up one of Nana's cute penguin mochis. He tears its face apart and plops the little pieces on top of the ice cream. Ta-da.

Here, Sol. ]

[cyclists]

[Farewell, mochi. Sol takes the milkshake though and examines it. Is this actually a milkshake or is this just ice cream with mochi on it. Who the hell cares? Regardless of what it is, Sol's going to also suddenly have a spoon in their hand to take a bite.

By now, Minato should be able to guess there really is a face under there and not a black void.]

You're right. It is good.

[compendiem]

[ It is absolutely a milkshake. Pleased, Minato picks up another mochi— the bear— and proceeds to hollow out its face with a spoon. He scoops up some of the ice cream and packs it into the wound and then tries to pinch the face back together so it seals up again. ]

Here, try this.

[cyclists]

[Glad Minato's destroying cute things. But there's an ice-cream-packed mochi now, and if Minato could see Sol's face it'd be an expression close to "o:". Ice cream inside mochi? Well. They'll take it and just stick their hand back into their hood to eat it.]

It's sweet. But a little grainy, too. And chewy...it's good. [And they hold out a hand. More please.]

[compendiem]

[ Minato smiles when he heads Sol say that it's good. ]

Alright, which animal do you want to eat?

[ He will destroy it especially for Sol. ]

[cyclists]

[What a good friend.]

The whale one? [Even helpfully pointing. Even if Minato's weird as shit, Sol is absolutely enjoying themselves.]

[compendiem]

[ He tries to balance out his weirdness

Whale it is; instead of removing the face, he takes a little more care giving the whale a wide glasgow smile and hollowing it out that way, so that when he stuffs it full of ice cream the mouth is still sort of open and looks like it's vomiting up vanilla ice cream.

It will still be delicious, if you don't think about it. ]

[cyclists]

[Not that Minato can see it, but Sol is absolutely watching this progression and doesn't even think of how sad it is for the whale or how gross that might look. They're concerned the ice cream might melt is all.]

I think it's full enough...

[compendiem]

[ It's not ice cream mochi, it's milkshake mochi ]

Alright... Careful.

[ Gotta eat it all in one bite. Minato goes ahead and makes one for himself too. ]

[cyclists]

[Soon to be devoured mochi because Sol takes it from Minato, holding it for a few moments to adjust it in their grip so it doesn't spill on their fingers.

And there it goes. Goodbye, mochi, you were delicious and Sol will think of you fondly.]

[compendiem]

[ Minato carefully chews his mochi before swallowing, then picks up another mochi to nibble on it plain. ]

...Can I ask you a question?

[cyclists]

You kinda just did. [But they're relaxed enough that they nod in reply.] What is it?

[compendiem]

[ I had a question and then I went to bed and forgot what it was, so instead, what Minato asks is ]

Do you want to have dinner together someday?

[cyclists]

[That's a mood. But it's fine because this question actually gets a pause.]

...yeah. That'd be nice, actually. [Sol isn't used to a lot of new people, but getting to know people hasn't been so bad so far.]

[compendiem]

[ Minato immediately brightens up from that, because it was a 50-50 chance in his mind that he'd get turned down. Grim Eyes was wrong, he thinks to himself: people do like eating together, no matter how different they are. ]

Whenever you're not busy, then... You know where my house is? I think Kazuaki's got his name up on the side of it. [ actually- ] Do you and Lune have a house too?

[cyclists]

Yeah. We figured out where all of you are staying after the first couple of days, so we can do that. [Sol kind of sounds very pleased with this prospect. Minato's very bizarre but at the same time he's been nothing but nice, so it works out.]

We have places we're staying, but they're not here. And we don't live together. Just close by.
