week zero: mingle
Week Zero
32 in Competition
32 in Competition
On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.
The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.
When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.
Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.
In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.
Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?
Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

Welcome to your tutorial week mingle log! Please see all the links within the log to check out the new updates. In addition, your status page has been updated. In case you missed it, please report all item theft to this top-level where all comments are screened. Private conversations are also open and should be reported under the Week 0 top-level.
A mini-event will also be posted on Wednesday, June 5th, so please keep an eye out for that!

[tsuru seems highly excitable and is also a meme
but this is saying that nicely?
regardless lune will match him easily for grace - they aren't prone to grand movements around others, but now it's apparent that despite their penchant for speak like they're a thousand years old, they are perfectly capable of stepping lightly]
no subject
[ lune is right, but tsuru also has the ability of getting bored easily when things get too quiet. he really appreciates the festival.
he follows the steps easily enough for a while, except then his other hand slips to lune's waist and tsuru just
very suddenly twirls them both in a circle, laughing ]
no subject
well that's fine. it's a surprise but it appears that lune might have been expecting the steps to be changed eventually, and simply moves with tsuru in this twirl, though it pulls a laugh from them as well]
I'm not familiar with this variation.
[they
don't seem to be having trouble with it though]
no subject
[ is it
is it really.
but tsuru will suddenly change the direction that they're twirling, going faster than he had been before. ]
Do you like it?
no subject
guess they're going that way then, but lune is laughing?]
Mm, it is exhilarating in its own way.
[they're going to end up in some kind of meme twirl tornado]
no subject
except tsuru is going to very suddenly stop spinning, almost as quickly as he started. and he's going to attempt to
dip lune
which may be problematic considering they were literally just spinning around and he didn't really give either of them a chance to regain their footing properly ]
no subject
the thing is that the two of them might be graceful and poised and lune might be oddly good at matching the tempo of whoever is opposite them
however
they literally just exited a twirl tornado and there is a grand zero chance of both of them still being able to stand so
down they go
that's the sound of lune's hip breaking (not really but metaphorically)]
no subject
but down they go, hitting the ground, and at the very least tsuru is going to try his best to make sure that when they land he's getting the brunt of it because he's a good sword who likes to shitpost but doesn't actually want to hurt anyone.
he's dead now. ]
Hahaha... ow!
no subject
anyway they both fall but it's not like lune is just going to go down like a lump. they barely manage to catch themselves before landing on top of tsuru, but the only way to do that is by placing either of their hands by tsuru's head for balance
that hood sure is still in place
but nonetheless they are also laughing]
Reckless crane, what mess have you fallen into now?
[well, that's fine. they'll also move to stand pretty soon after so they don't get stepped on in the middle of the dance floor. when they do, a hand is extended to tsuru of course]
no subject
[ and he'll reach out to take the offered hand, using it to help get back onto his feet. tsuru will dust off his outfit, because obviously a crane cannot be dirty?
and then he'll flash a grin at lune. ]
It's good to know that you'll fall for me, Lune-chan.
no subject
lune seems thoughtful at that for a moment - before using the hand that he's holding onto in order to pull tsuru close enough to wrap an arm around his waist
coupled with a neat little sweep of their foot to knock tsuru off his feet
so now lune, who is entirely stable, can dip tsuru]
Likewise.
no subject
he lets out a small noise of surprise, and his hands immediately go to grip onto lune's arm out of reflex. but then he realizes what just happened, and tsuru starts laughing. ]
Ah, you got me again.
[ he somehow sounds both glad and defeated at the same time. ]
no subject
they'll rise then, lifting tsuru with them. why was it so easy for this fossil to hold onto tsuru's weight.]
Am I the victor of the points?
[of tsuru's imaginary's competition?????]
no subject
[ seven whole points
the hand that isn't holding lune's will reach forward towards the hood, although it stops before it reaches their face. instead, his hand just settles on lune's shoulder, draped over it. ]
Maybe eight, for your fast recovery.
no subject
Seven to eight points that I will certainly treasure.
[and since they're apparently suited to dance again, lune will take the first step to resume their pace now!!]
no subject
[ and he will easily ease back into dancing again, as if they weren't just on the floor after they memed too hard. it's fine.
... although then he scrunches up his nose. ]
Wait. Lune-chan! How many points did you give me?
no subject
Then you must have ten or eleven.
[is
is lune just letting tsuru win because he wants to]
no subject
his expression changes again, to something delighted, and that's why his grip on lune tightens and he'll make another attempt at dipping them.
this one will probably go a little more smoothly, since it's not as stupid as his first go. ]
no subject
that is fine - except gravity still happens, and lune's hood appears as though it might begin to slip
except they trust tsurumaru enough that their hand instead comes to hold onto the edge of the hood before it slips off of their head, rather than holding onto him
odd, the darkness remains in place
but they'll comment lightly instead]
Hmm, I believe that puts you at thirteen.
no subject
he just looks at them for a moment, like he's willing for lune's hand to slip and for the hood to fall even further... except, it doesn't happen, so tsuru just lets out a breathy laugh.
and then pull lune back up, so that they're pressed against each other for a moment before he takes a small step back. ]
Am I ahead of everyone?
no subject
anyway lune will take a matching step back and their hand lowers from their hood once they're steady again, thinking on the question]
Mmm... That is hard to say. As I mentioned, the competition is quite fierce...
no subject
[ why is tsuru acting like he didn't make up this competition himself and then just forced it onto lune
but he's waiting very intently on their answer? he's even leaning in slightly again, staring very hard at them as if that'll make them answer faster. ]
no subject
they do not seem to be bothered by the intensity of tsuru's stare
and then they'll nod]
Sol.
[yea]
no subject
[ he steps on lune's foot ]
no subject
lune pauses their dance?
but is laughing?]
